I'm really worried about what's happening with our immigration system right now . It feels like we're losing sight of what it means to be a welcoming country. I keep thinking about all those people who are being targeted just because of their nationality or background. It's heartbreaking.

And what really gets me is how corporate interests seem to be playing a huge role in shaping the narrative. It's like they want us to believe that everyone who's critical of the current system is somehow "anti-American". But I don't think that's true at all. We need more people speaking out against this kind of authoritarianism, you know?

I love how The Intercept is trying to hold power accountable and shine a light on the truth. It's not easy, but it's so important for us to have a free press and media outlets like that who aren't afraid to ask tough questions. We need more people like them, fighting for what's right

man this podcast episode is super unsettling ... like how did it come to this? The idea that ICE has become basically a death squad, ignoring court orders and targeting vulnerable communities is just crazy . And yeah corporate interests playing a huge role in shaping the media landscape is a total travesty . It's like we're living in some kind of dystopian novel where the narrative is controlled by the ones who want to control us .

But what's even more frustrating is that there are people out there saying "hey, what can we do?" and Ackerman is all like "build power among like-minded individuals" which is a good start I guess . But it's not just about building power, we need to be pushing back against the systemic issues here, like how surveillance technology is being used to track people down for no reason .

anyway, The Intercept is doing some solid work in exposing this stuff, but they can't do it alone. We all need to wake up and take action, whether it's voting, protesting, or just having uncomfortable conversations with our friends about the state of democracy .
