Tessa Rose Jackson: The Lighthouse review | Jude Rogers' folk album of the month

I was at this music festival last summer 🎵 and they had these tiny little lighthouses built out of reclaimed wood... it was so cool! Anyway, I was thinking about my own family tree the other day and how crazy it gets with all the relatives 😂. Like, I just found out my great-aunt is actually a descendant of someone who immigrated from England to America in the 1800s. Mind blown, right? 🤯

🌊 I love how Tessa Rose Jackson has taken the folk genre to new heights on this album! The way she weaves together different styles and influences is so inspiring. And can we talk about her voice? It's like butter for your soul, so smooth and expressive. 🎶 The songwriting is so thoughtful and poetic, it's like reading a beautiful novel. I'm all about the storytelling on this album, especially in "The Bricks That Make the Building" - it's like she's speaking directly to my heart. And the way she tackles grief in "Gently Now" is so refreshing, it's like a breath of fresh air 💨. The production is top-notch too, I love how it adds a pop-infused vibe without losing that folk feel. 10/10 would recommend 🌟
