In the shocking case of Dr. Jeffrey Robinson, his girlfriend's death was linked to an alleged attempt to control her mind through sedatives and restraints. The 44-year-old doctor from Maryland is accused of poisoning his girlfriend, then using physical restraints and sedatives to keep her captive.
According to authorities, Robinson had become increasingly possessive and controlling over his partner, eventually luring her into a home where he confined her for several months on end.
He allegedly drugged her with benzodiazepines, such as Klonopin and Ativan, which have no legitimate medical use. In addition to that, he physically restrained the woman using handcuffs and chains.
A friend of the victim reported hearing strange noises coming from Robinson's residence, including screams and sounds of being beaten. The friend even stated that they found the girlfriend's phone locked in a box with no way of opening it.
The investigation revealed that Robinson had become fixated on his partner, often showing up uninvited at her workplace and stalking her online. He eventually convinced her to let him take care of her, leading to a series of increasingly disturbing events.
Robinson's defense team claimed that the woman was suffering from severe mental health issues, which may have contributed to Robinson's actions.

i cant even imagine being in a situation like that with someone u need to be able to trust them with ur life but it sounds like robinson took it way too far he was so possessive and controlling its scary 2 think about how much someone can manipulate another person into doing whats best for them...not. anyway, i think we should all learn from this case & make sure we're not being as toxic in our own relationships u never know what might be lurking beneath the surface 
I'm absolutely appalled by this egregious case of psychological manipulation and abuse. The idea that someone can so thoroughly control another person's life through sedatives and restraints is downright chilling. It's astonishing to think about the extent to which Dr. Robinson's possessive behavior warped his perception of reality, leading him to believe he had the right to dictate every aspect of his partner's existence.
. The use of sedatives and physical restraints? That's just sickening 
. And the fact that he was controlling every aspect of her life, showing up at work, stalking online... it's like he was playing some twisted game 
. I'm not buying into his defense team's claims about her mental health issues either 
. It's clear to me that she was a victim here and this guy's actions were premeditated and calculated. Can't believe the level of depravity that some people are capable of 
. And the fact that he was checking in on her all the time, showing up uninvited, stalking her online... that's just a big red flag

I don’t know if mental health issues can be used as a defense for this level of abuse, but it’s clear that Robinson had some major red flags to ignore. He was basically using his position as a surgeon to exploit and control someone who couldn't defend herself. It's just not right

I'm still shaking my head over this one... controlling behavior is red flag city and it's crazy how much it can escalate into something like this. I mean, sedatives and physical restraints? That's just plain messed up 
. And to think she was convinced he could take care of her... it's like they were trapped in some kind of toxic cycle 
. We need to be better at recognizing these warning signs and supporting people who are being manipulated or controlled. It's just not okay 
? an md should know better, especially w/ all the meds he was prescrbing 
. an 1st degree murder charge isnt even enough for this one...

. The FDA has been warning about this since 2014, but it seems like we're still dealing with some serious issues.
. Can you imagine if more cases were reported? It would be a game-changer in terms of prevention and treatment.
but unfortunately, it's all too real. what's even more disturbing is how someone who's supposed to be a medical professional could abuse their power like this. and the fact that he claimed his girlfriend was mentally unstable just to justify his own twisted behavior... *shakes head* it's just so sad and tragic 
. And the fact that he used meds and restraints... it's like something outta a horror movie

interesting how the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his girlfriend's death it's also a shame that some people still think mental health issues are an excuse for bad behavior 
And the fact that he was checking up on her online too... it's like something straight out of a bad thriller movie. But honestly, the part that really gets me is how his defense team is trying to spin this as if she was somehow responsible for what happened. No way, dude! We need to be supporting victims of abuse, not making excuses for the abusers themselves. 
it's just heartbreaking to think about how someone can become so controlling and abusive in a relationship

I mean, i get that he thought he was "taking care" of her but newsflash, controllin someone doesn't equate 2 love 
anyway, the fact that he's a surgeon & had access 2 meds 4 mental health issues makes it even more disturbing
