I don't know about you guys but I'm still waiting for Netflix to update their mobile app... Like seriously can't they just make it faster than 3 seconds to load? And what's up with the comments section, always getting flooded with spam comments and people asking the same questions over and over again. Can't we have a decent discussion without all that noise?
I'm not sure what I just saw - it's like del Toro took a classic tale and infused it with his own brand of weirdness. I mean, that creature is gorgeous, but it doesn't have the same bite as Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. And Oscar Isaac's performance? Meh, it's solid, but he's no monster himself. What really draws me in, though, is how del Toro explores our relationship with these creatures - it's like we're staring into a mirror and seeing ourselves back. The atmosphere is always on point, it's like stepping into a dream... or a nightmare
I can feel how much love and care del Toro puts into his work, it's like he's really trying to help us see the world from a different perspective . I think what I love most about this film is how it makes you feel uncomfortable in a good way - like your skin is crawling but you're also kinda fascinated by the monster. It's like del Toro is saying, "Hey, let's talk about these dark feelings we all have inside us" . And Oscar Isaac's performance as Victor Frankenstein is just so raw and emotional, it's like he's really channeling the pain of creation. The creature, though... I get what del Toro was going for with that one but it did feel a bit too pretty to me . Overall, this film is like a masterclass in atmosphere and tension - it's like you're right there with Victor on his journey into madness .
