I'm glad to see the UK government is finally taking some steps towards tackling child poverty
. But honestly, it's been a long time coming! I think it's about time they acknowledged that poverty isn't just something that happens to certain families, but can happen to anyone who needs help.
I love that Labour is being more proactive on this issue now - it's about time they stood up for the kids who need it most
. But what really worries me is that there are still some big gaps in their plan. Like, why is the benefits system still so broken?
It feels like we're just scratching the surface of what needs to be done here. I'm all for Labour being bold and taking action, but we need to make sure they're not just talking the talk
. We need tangible changes that will really make a difference in people's lives.
Let's hope they can build on this momentum and create some real change
