The Guide #227: A brain-melting sci-fi movie marathon, curated by Britain's best cult film-maker

OMG you guys!!! 🤯 this is like my dream come true!!!! Ben Wheatley curating a 12-hour sci-fi movie marathon featuring all these iconic flicks is like, totally mind-blowing 🤯! I mean, who wouldn't want to spend their day watching Alphaville (1965) and Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)? Those films are like, the holy grail of sci-fi cinema for me!!! 😍 And Quatermass 2 is like, my absolute fave Hammer sci-fi classic - I love how it's all paranoid and atmospheric 🌑. I'm literally drooling thinking about this marathon, it's going to be a wild ride from 7 am onwards 💥!

omg this sounds like a wild ride i mean 12 hours of sci-fi films is like, whoa but seriously ben wheatley knows his stuff he curated some amazing flicks like alphaville and tetsuo: the iron man that's like, so trippy i love how he picked quatermass 2 over the sequel it's like a breath of fresh air also le samourai is so stylish i need to watch that ASAP

🤯 I'm not surprised they're trying to sell us on this mental marathon... 12 hours of brain-melting sci-fi flicks? Sounds like a recipe for burnout to me. What's the real motive here? Is it just about celebrating Wheatley's latest film or is there more to it? 🤑 Maybe they just want to break us all down into puddles of emotional exhaustion so we're too drained to question their intentions... 😴

omg i'm low-key obsessed with this idea! 12 hours of mind-bending movies is like, the ultimate test of endurance, but also kinda genius? ben wheatley's curated marathon is giving me all the feels - from alphaville's pioneering new wave vibes to tetsuo: the iron man's wild and unapologetic body horror. i'm loving how wheatley chose films that have influenced his latest production bulk, it's like he's sharing a piece of himself with us 🤯. starting at 7 am is like, the perfect time - who needs sleep when you can be immersed in these iconic sci-fi and noir classics all day? 😴🍿
