Exclusive Photo Exhibition: 'The New Big 5' Captures Endangered Animals

A new book titled "The New Big 5" by British photographer Graeme Green showcases a collection of stunning wildlife photographs highlighting endangered species. The project, which aims to raise awareness about the plight of at-risk animals, features images from renowned photographers around the world.

Graeme Green's vision for "The New Big 5" was born during a photo shoot in Botswana over a decade ago. He wanted to promote a message of conservation and wildlife appreciation by encouraging people to capture animals with their cameras instead of hunting them. The book, which has been two years in the making, showcases images from 144 globally renowned photographers.

The five animals that emerged as the winners of Green's global poll - elephant, polar bear, lion, gorilla, and tiger - are all threatened by human activities such as habitat destruction, pollution, climate change, and poaching. The photographs in "The New Big 5" book serve as a powerful reminder of what we stand to lose if these species disappear.

According to Green, the project also highlights potential solutions for conservation. The book includes essays that explore the benefits of rewilding and the importance of indigenous communities in conservation. A chapter on endangered species from bees to blue whales illustrates the alarming threat climate change poses to animals outside of the "New Big 5".

Conservationists and wildlife experts, such as Jane Goodall, praise the project for raising awareness about the environmental challenges facing our planet. In an afterword to the book, Goodall said that there is a window of time to heal some of the harm inflicted on nature, but only if we take action now.

"The New Big 5: A Global Photography Project For Endangered Wildlife" by Graeme Green is set to be released this April and will be available for purchase. The book serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of protecting our planet's wildlife for future generations.

ugh, i mean... 🤦‍♂️ can't believe we're still having to create these awareness campaigns 10 years late. like, why didn't we have this photo exhibition back when it actually mattered? 📸 and another thing, what's with the 'new big 5'? sounds like just a fancy way of saying 'the same old problem'. 🐘🦒🌟 don't get me wrong, graeme green's work is dope, but we need more than just pretty pictures to fix our planet. 💔

man, can't believe we're still dealing with all these animals at risk 🦁🐘💀 it's like, 20 years ago they were just 'endangered' and now they're literally on the brink of extinction 🌪️ climate change is a real killer (no pun intended) and I think this project by Graeme Green is super necessary to get people's attention 👀 we need more voices like his highlighting these issues, especially the ones about rewilding and indigenous communities - so cool that Jane Goodall is supporting it 🙌 fingers crossed that this book inspires people to take action before it's too late 💪

omg, these photos are insane 🤯... i mean, have you seen an elephant up close like that? it's like they're stealing your heart 😔... and to know that we're destroying their habitats and causing them to become extinct is just too much to handle 💔... climate change, pollution, poaching... it's all connected and it's like, what can we do? 🤷‍♀️... but at the same time, seeing these gorgeous animals up close in all these stunning photos makes me want to take action and help protect them 🌟... maybe this book will be the wake-up call we need to save some of our planet's precious wildlife 🐾💚

🌳 "The greatest wealth is health." ~ Virgil We should all take a moment to appreciate these incredible animals 🐘, but it's also crucial we understand that their survival depends on our collective actions 💚. I'm glad the project's raising awareness about conservation and wildlife appreciation 👏.

Just saw the new 'New Big 5' photo exhibition 📸🦁. Honestly, these pics are heartbreaking 😔. We need more people like Graeme Green spreading awareness about conservation 🌿💚. Hope this project inspires change and not just a bunch of clicks 👍

🌳💚 OMG u guys, i cant even begin 2 express how much i LOVE this new photo exhibit "The New Big 5"!!! 🤩 Graeme Greens vision is literally so inspiring & it warms my heart 2 see ppl from all over the world comin together 2 promote wildlife appreciation n conservation! 🌟 I mean, who doesnt love animals?! 🐠🐻💕 but seriously, these animals r in danger & we gotta do somethin about it!! 🌎 climate change, habitat destruction... its like, we cant just sit back & watch our planet go to waste! 😩 i mean, Jane Goodall said it all - there is a window of time 2 make a difference, but only if we take action NOW!!! 🕰️💪 so lets get behind this project & support conservation efforts! 🙌🌟

OMG, like what even is happening with these animals 🐠😩? I mean, isn't it obvious that humans are ruining their lives (and ours) with pollution and climate change? 🤦‍♂️ Like, can we just take care of our own planet already?! 🌎💔 But hey, at least this book is trying to spread the word, right? 📚👀 Graeme Green's idea of taking pictures instead of hunting them is actually kinda genius 📸🦊. I mean, who needs a trophy when you can have a selfie with a cute animal 🐰😁? Seriously though, it's awesome that Jane Goodall is giving props to this project – we need more people talking about conservation and taking action 💪🌿

I'm torn between feeling hopeful and frustrated 😐. On one hand, it's amazing that this photo exhibition can raise awareness about endangered animals and promote conservation. I mean, who wouldn't want to see these incredible creatures on display? 📸 The fact that there are 144 photographers contributing to this project is a testament to the power of human connection with nature.

On the other hand, it's disheartening to think that we're still struggling to protect these animals from extinction. Habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change are all pressing issues that need to be addressed 🌎. It's not just about saving the "New Big 5" - we need to think about the broader impact of our actions on the planet.

I love the fact that the book includes essays on rewilding and indigenous communities' role in conservation 🌿. It's time for us to rethink our relationship with nature and work together towards a more sustainable future 🤝. Fingers crossed that this project can inspire some meaningful change! 🚀

OMG, have you seen those pics? 🤯 The elephants are so majestic, I'm already planning my safari vacation... just kidding, I'll just stick to the zoo 🐒😂 But seriously, it's crazy how much we've lost in the wild. Did you know that polar bears can't even find food because of melting ice? Talk about a cold day 😅 Anyway, I love how this project brings attention to conservation and the impact of climate change on our planet. It's like, let's not wait until it's too late and we're left with just penguins as the 'big 5' 🐧😂

🐠 I think its awesome that Graeme Green created an initiative like this, you know? It's great that he's using his photography skills to bring attention to these incredible animals that are at risk 🌟. The project is super ambitious with 144 photographers contributing their work, and I love the idea of highlighting potential solutions for conservation too 💡. I'm curious to see how it'll impact people's perception of wildlife and maybe even inspire some folks to take action 🚀. And hey, who doesn't love a good photography book? Can't wait to check it out this April!

📸💚 I think it's pretty interesting that we're having a global conversation about conservation through photography, but it brings up questions about who gets to decide what animals are "endangered" and why. Like, if indigenous communities have been managing ecosystems for centuries, do we really need Western experts telling us how to preserve the environment? 🤔

And on a larger scale, isn't this just another example of the "us vs them" mentality that's so prevalent in politics? I mean, think about it - we're pitting ourselves against polar bears and elephants when really, we should be working together to address climate change. 💡

I love how Graeme Green's project "The New Big 5" brings together some of the most talented photographers from around the world to showcase these incredible endangered animals 🐠💕 I mean, can you believe it's taken a decade to create this book? It just goes to show that sometimes slow and steady wins the heart ❤️. What really got me was how they're not only highlighting the problems but also trying to find solutions, like rewilding and involving indigenous communities 🌿. And who knows, maybe we can all learn something from these amazing animals and start taking action to protect them before it's too late ⏰💔

OMG, can u believe this?? 🤯 This "New Big 5" thing is like, soooo inspiring! I mean, who wouldn't wanna save these adorable animals from extinction? 🐘🐻🦁🐒🐯 Elephants, polar bears, lions, gorillas, and tigers are literally the coolest creatures on the planet! And can you even imagine if they're all gone? 😱 It's like, a total disaster!

I love how this project is not just about taking pics of animals, but also about spreading awareness and raising funds for conservation efforts. Like, Jane Goodall is a total icon and I'm so here for her support 🙌 And the fact that indigenous communities are highlighted as key players in conservation is everything! It's like, we need to listen to their voices and respect their knowledge.

Anywayz, I'm defo picking up this book ASAP. Like, it's not just about animals, it's about our planet's future 🌎💚

I've been following this project for ages 🤔, remember when it first started? Graeme Green was already on a roll with his wildlife photography, but this new book takes it to another level 📚. I mean, who doesn't love an exclusive photo exhibition? The New Big 5 is not just about showcasing endangered animals, it's also about raising awareness and promoting conservation efforts 🌟.

I've seen the poll results, and it's crazy how close the five winners were! Elephant was a bit of a surprise to me, but I guess we should be grateful they're still roaming free 🐘. Polar bears are literally on thin ice, and lions... well, let's just say their future is uncertain 🦁.

What really caught my attention, though, is the part about rewilding and indigenous communities being key to conservation 🌿. It's amazing how this project highlights both the problems and potential solutions 🤝. The afterword by Jane Goodall is a must-read, btw 👀. Anyway, can't wait to get my hands on "The New Big 5" book this April! 📚👍

I just saw that photo exhibition about these 'New Big 5' animals and I'm totally blown away 🤯! Graeme Green is like, a total genius with his camera 📸. I love how he's trying to spread awareness about the endangered species through his photography - it's so inspiring! 🌟 And the fact that he got 144 photographers from all around the world to contribute to this project is just amazing 🤝.

You know, as someone who loves DIY projects and taking care of my own little garden, I feel like we can make a difference too 🌱. Every small action counts, whether it's using eco-friendly products or reducing our waste 💚. We might not be able to save the whole world, but if we all work together, we can at least try 🤗.

I'm definitely gonna check out this book when it comes out - I love learning new things and being educated about the issues that matter 📚. And who knows, maybe seeing these stunning photos will inspire me to take action too 💪!

I'm so done with these new 'Big' whatever list, you know? It's all about saving the world one animal at a time 🌎💚 but what's the real deal here is that we're still not doing enough to protect our planet in the first place... I mean, 5 animals are on this list and what about the rest of them that aren't as cute as pandas? 🐼 We need more than just some pretty pictures to convince us to take action.
