Atari Hotels' plans for a gaming-themed hotel in Las Vegas have seemingly been wiped off the map. Spokesperson Sara Collins revealed that the project, which was touted as one of eight major cities across the US including Sin City, has fallen through. Instead, the company is now focusing its energy on bringing the concept to life in Phoenix, Arizona.

The original plan had envisioned a gaming destination in Las Vegas, but apparently never materialized. That leaves only Phoenix – initially intended as the flagship site – moving forward with construction expected to kick off later this year, with an opening date slated for 2028.

However, despite progress on the Phoenix project, Atari Hotels is still struggling financially. The company is trying to raise between $35 million and $40 million to bring its "playable destination" concept to fruition in Phoenix. This has cast doubt over whether the project will ever reach its full potential.
 
ugh that's so bummer for vegas folks 🤕 i mean can u imagine staying at a hotel dedicated entirely to gaming? it sounds like an amazing way to live that gaming life 24/7! but atm it seems like phoenix is gonna be the one getting this awesome spot instead which is still pretty cool, gotta give em credit for trying anyway 🙌

🤔 I'm like, totally stoked that Atari Hotels is still pushing for their gaming-themed hotel in Phoenix, but at the same time, I'm really worried about how financially unstable they are 🤑👀 I mean, if they can't even get it together in Las Vegas, which was supposed to be the flagship site, what's to say they'll succeed in Phoenix? 💸 And with the financial struggles, you gotta wonder if they're just spreading themselves too thin. Can they really make this work? 🤷‍♀️ I'm torn between being excited about a new gaming destination and being skeptical about its viability 😐

I'm so bummed out about this news, you know? I was super stoked when I first heard they were building a gaming-themed hotel in Vegas 🤕. I mean, can you imagine staying in a place with retro arcades and classic consoles all over the place? It would've been like stepping into my childhood 🎮.

But now it seems like that's not happening. Phoenix is still going ahead with the project, but only because Atari Hotels needed to scale back their plans. I get it, financial struggles are no joke 💸. And to make matters worse, they're trying to raise money for this thing, which is just gonna cast more doubt on whether it'll ever happen 🤔.

I do hope Phoenix's project turns out awesome though! Maybe one day I'll get to experience that gaming paradise for myself 😊. Fingers crossed!

man that's a shame, gaming hotels were gonna be so lit! 🤖💻 like who wouldn't wanna stay in a hotel where you can play all day and get rewards and stuff? but phoenix is still cool i guess, at least it's happening there... i hope it doesn't get cancelled too lol. the thing is, if they're struggling financially, then what's gonna happen to the game selection and the whole experience? 🤔 i mean, i love retro gaming as much as the next guy, but would you wanna pay top dollar to stay in a hotel with maybe like 10 classic arcade machines? not sure, still thinking it's worth it tho.
 
I'm low-key disappointed that it's not happening in Vegas... I mean, who wouldn't want a gaming hotel on the strip? 🤔 But, at the same time, I think it's great that they're still moving forward with Phoenix – I guess you could say it's a good thing for the city's gaming scene.
