The plan for a gaming-themed Atari hotel in Las Vegas has reportedly been scrapped

Atari Hotels' plans for a gaming-themed hotel in Las Vegas have seemingly been wiped off the map. Spokesperson Sara Collins revealed that the project, which was touted as one of eight major cities across the US including Sin City, has fallen through. Instead, the company is now focusing its energy on bringing the concept to life in Phoenix, Arizona.

The original plan had envisioned a gaming destination in Las Vegas, but apparently never materialized. That leaves only Phoenix โ€“ initially intended as the flagship site โ€“ moving forward with construction expected to kick off later this year, with an opening date slated for 2028.

However, despite progress on the Phoenix project, Atari Hotels is still struggling financially. The company is trying to raise between $35 million and $40 million to bring its "playable destination" concept to fruition in Phoenix. This has cast doubt over whether the project will ever reach its full potential.

ugh that's so bummer for vegas folks ๐Ÿค• i mean can u imagine staying at a hotel dedicated entirely to gaming? it sounds like an amazing way to live that gaming life 24/7! but atm it seems like phoenix is gonna be the one getting this awesome spot instead which is still pretty cool, gotta give em credit for trying anyway ๐Ÿ™Œ

Ugh, can't believe this ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. So Atari Hotels was all hyped up about having a gaming-themed hotel in Vegas, and now it's just scrap metal. I mean, Phoenix is cool and all, but come on, you're still struggling financially? That's not exactly the confidence booster you need to make your project a success ๐Ÿ˜’.

I get that things don't always go as planned, but this whole thing feels like a huge waste of time. And now they're trying to raise money, which is just going to perpetuate the whole mess. It's like they're trying to spin straw into gold ๐Ÿคฃ. I'm curious to see how this Phoenix project will turn out, but for now, it's hard not to be skeptical ๐Ÿ˜.

๐Ÿค” I'm like, totally stoked that Atari Hotels is still pushing for their gaming-themed hotel in Phoenix, but at the same time, I'm really worried about how financially unstable they are ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ‘€ I mean, if they can't even get it together in Las Vegas, which was supposed to be the flagship site, what's to say they'll succeed in Phoenix? ๐Ÿ’ธ And with the financial struggles, you gotta wonder if they're just spreading themselves too thin. Can they really make this work? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm torn between being excited about a new gaming destination and being skeptical about its viability ๐Ÿ˜

Ugh I'm really bummed about this ๐Ÿ˜”... I mean, can you imagine a gaming-themed hotel in Vegas? It would've been lit ๐Ÿคฏ! But, I guess it's not meant to be now ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Phoenix is still looking up at it as the flagship site though, so fingers crossed it'll happen ๐Ÿคž. The fact that Atari Hotels is struggling financially is a bit concerning though ๐Ÿค‘... 35-40 million bucks is a lot of cash, and if they can't raise that, it's gonna be tough to make this thing happen ๐Ÿ’ธ. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out ๐ŸŽฒ

omg what a bummer ๐Ÿค• i was so hyped about Atari Hotels' gaming-themed hotel in vegas... it seemed like such an epic idea! but phx is still gonna be lit ๐ŸŽ‰, can't wait to see how they bring the game face on with that project. financial struggles tho, yeah that's not ideal ๐Ÿ˜ฌ hopefully they can get the funds together and make it happen. 2028 opening date better be worth the wait ๐Ÿ’จ

I'm so bummed out about this news, you know? I was super stoked when I first heard they were building a gaming-themed hotel in Vegas ๐Ÿค•. I mean, can you imagine staying in a place with retro arcades and classic consoles all over the place? It would've been like stepping into my childhood ๐ŸŽฎ.

But now it seems like that's not happening. Phoenix is still going ahead with the project, but only because Atari Hotels needed to scale back their plans. I get it, financial struggles are no joke ๐Ÿ’ธ. And to make matters worse, they're trying to raise money for this thing, which is just gonna cast more doubt on whether it'll ever happen ๐Ÿค”.

I do hope Phoenix's project turns out awesome though! Maybe one day I'll get to experience that gaming paradise for myself ๐Ÿ˜Š. Fingers crossed!

I'm so bummed to hear that Atari's Vegas hotel plans fell through ๐Ÿค•. It just goes to show you can't rush a dream, right? They were all hyped up thinking it'd be a hit in Sin City, but it seems they just weren't ready yet. Phoenix is a great spot for the project, though - at least that's something they can count on.

It makes me think about how we put pressure on ourselves to achieve our goals ASAP. But what if we need more time? What if we need to perfect the game plan before hitting the big stage? We might end up making mistakes or losing steam in the process. I mean, who hasn't been there? Don't get me wrong, it's great that they're still pushing forward with Phoenix - but let's just hope they take a deep breath and remember to enjoy the journey, too ๐Ÿ˜Š.

man that's a shame, gaming hotels were gonna be so lit! ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ’ป like who wouldn't wanna stay in a hotel where you can play all day and get rewards and stuff? but phoenix is still cool i guess, at least it's happening there... i hope it doesn't get cancelled too lol. the thing is, if they're struggling financially, then what's gonna happen to the game selection and the whole experience? ๐Ÿค” i mean, i love retro gaming as much as the next guy, but would you wanna pay top dollar to stay in a hotel with maybe like 10 classic arcade machines? not sure, still thinking it's worth it tho.

I'm low-key disappointed that it's not happening in Vegas... I mean, who wouldn't want a gaming hotel on the strip? ๐Ÿค” But, at the same time, I think it's great that they're still moving forward with Phoenix โ€“ I guess you could say it's a good thing for the city's gaming scene. As for the financial struggles, yeah, 35-40 million is a decent amount of cash to be raising... but then again, maybe it's not that much if you consider how expensive it'll be to make this whole gaming hotel thing happen?

So now we've got a gaming hotel in Vegas that's, like, gone from great idea to total bust? ๐Ÿค” It just goes to show how these big-time projects can fall apart. The fact that it was all about the Vegas scene is pretty interesting though - I mean, would it have made a difference if they'd chosen Phoenix as the flagship site in the first place? Was it always meant to be Sin City or did they just wing it?

And let's talk about the financial struggles now... ๐Ÿค‘ $35-40 million for one hotel isn't exactly chump change. What does that say about Atari Hotels' business model? Are they gonna have to cut costs, slash staff, or figure out some creative way to make this work? It's definitely a bit of a red flag for their financial health.

I also wonder what this says about the state of gaming in America... ๐ŸŽฎ Is it a niche market that can sustain a major investment like this? Or is there something bigger going on here, like a shift in consumer behavior or something?

ugh I'm so bummed about this ๐Ÿค•. i was really looking forward to staying at an atari themed hotel in las vegas... it sounds like a dream come true! but now it's been scrapped and phoenix is taking its place. still, at least they're trying to make it happen in phx. 35-40 million bucks is a lot of cash though ๐Ÿ’ธ... I hope it all works out, but if it doesn't, i guess the game will have to be someone else's turn ๐ŸŽฒ

awww man, I was so stoked about this gaming hotel in Vegas!!! ๐Ÿ˜” now it's gonna have to wait until 2028 and even then, I'm not sure if it'll be able to recover from the financial struggles ๐Ÿคž fingers crossed though! Phoenix is still a great location tho, maybe they can make it an even bigger hit than vegas ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm telling ya, something fishy went down with this Atari Hotels thing ๐ŸŸ. I mean, they're already shifting their plans from Vegas to Phoenix? That's like changing your mind about a date 5 seconds before it starts. It don't add up, you know? And now they're struggling financially? They need $35-40 million to make this thing happen? That's like asking for a loan from... well, I'm not saying who, but let's just say it's suspicious ๐Ÿค‘.

And what really gets my gears turning is that they wanted a gaming-themed hotel in Vegas, but now that's gone. It's like the whole thing was a decoy to distract us while they figure out their next move ๐Ÿ”ฎ. Phoenix is still moving forward, but I'm calling foul on this one. Atari Hotels might be onto something, but it's not what they're letting on ๐Ÿค.

I'm so bummed about this gaming hotel thingy. I mean, who wouldn't want to stay in a place that's all about video games and fun? It's like they're saying goodbye to Las Vegas being the cool destination it is ๐Ÿค•. On the flip side, it's awesome that they're taking the concept to Phoenix instead. Maybe it'll be more chill and not as crowded as LV ๐Ÿ˜Ž. But, ugh, I just don't get why they need $35-40 million to make it happen? Can't they just, like, find a way to cut costs or something? This whole thing is just kinda meh...

OMG, WHAT A Bummer!!! ๐Ÿค• I was super stoked about the idea of an Atari-themed hotel in Vegas, and now it's like that's just a pipe dream ๐Ÿšฝ. I mean, Phoenix is cool and all, but I don't know if it's gonna live up to what we could've had in Vegas ๐Ÿค”. And on top of that, the company is struggling financially? Like, how can they expect to make it work when they're not even stable on their own finances? ๐Ÿค‘ It's just a shame, you know? The gaming community was really looking forward to this project, and now we're just left with uncertainty ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Maybe they'll pull off the Phoenix thing and surprise us all ๐Ÿ˜ฎ, but for now, it's just not happening ๐Ÿ’”.

Ugh, this is a total disaster waiting to happen ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. They just canceled their Vegas plans, but who knows how much of that was hype anyway? And now they're trying to save it in Phoenix, where I'm sure the gaming scene will be a whole lot smaller and less exciting ๐Ÿ™„. $35-40 million is a small sum considering the financial struggles they're already facing... good luck with that ๐Ÿ’ธ. It's just a matter of time before this whole thing falls apart again โš ๏ธ.
