The 'Solar Opposites' Team Has a New Sci-Fi Animated Series Coming

Hulu's Solar Opposites Fans Have Reason to Rejoice with Amazon Prime Video's New Dystopian Animated Series, Odd Jobs.

Fans of the now-defunct Hulu series, Solar Opposites, are in for a treat as two of its creative minds behind it have embarked on a new project. Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes, both Solar Opposites alumni, have announced their upcoming animated series, Odd Jobs, set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Odd Jobs takes place in the year 2127, where humanity has devolved into an extreme late-stage capitalist hellscape. The show follows a team of gig workers as they travel through the neo-Midwest, completing bizarre and perilous tasks assigned by the ODD JOBS app. This concept promises to bring out the same brand of irreverent humor that made Solar Opposites such a hit.

The co-creators behind Odd Jobs recently shared their inspiration for the series in a statement to Variety. They revealed that they accidentally stumbled upon a portal while wandering through the wilderness and found themselves hundreds of years in the future, witnessing dystopian portents about humanity's direction. Instead of taking action, they decided to turn these warnings into an animated show.

Head of animation at Amazon MGM Studios, Melissa Wolfe, has praised Odd Jobs as "sharp, absurd, and laugh-out-loud funny," promising a wildly imaginative look at a chaotic yet entertaining future. While no voice cast or release date have been announced, fans are eagerly awaiting updates on this new series. One thing is certain – with the creative minds behind Solar Opposites at the helm, Odd Jobs is shaping up to be a hilarious and thought-provoking ride.

omg u guys I'm low-key hyped about this new Amazon Prime animated show odd jobs 🀯 it's set in like 2127 or something & people have really devolved into capitalist hellscape vibes, soooo I'm here for the satire πŸ˜‚ i love how the creators of Solar Opposites are back at it again, bringing that same brand of humor & absurdity to their new show πŸ€ͺ can't wait to see what kinda wacky tasks these gig workers get assigned through the ODD JOBS app πŸ’ΈπŸš€ anyone else stoked for this?

ugh I'm still so bummed that Solar Opposites got cancelled I mean what's the point of having an amazing show like that if you're just gonna shut it down? but on the bright side this new series Odd Jobs sounds like it could be some crazy fun πŸ€ͺ and with Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes behind it, I'm pretty sure we'll get more of that same offbeat humor. I've been searching all over for any info on Amazon Prime Video's release date btw has anyone seen anything? πŸ˜’

I'm so hyped about this new Amazon Prime Video series! 🀩 It's like they're speaking straight to my soul, you know? I mean, a world that's basically a crazy version of our own future... it's wild to think that we might be heading down that path. I'm low-key freaking out thinking about the implications of how late-stage capitalism can lead to some pretty dark places πŸŒ‘. And on top of that, the fact that these creators were inspired by their accidental journey into the unknown is just mind-blowing... what a concept! 🀯

ugh I'm literally so down for this i need more of those irreverent humor vibes in my life after solar opposites ended it was like a part of me died 🀣 but seriously though the concept of odd jobs sounds SO on point a future where humanity has devolved into some kind of extreme late-stage capitalism hellscapes is just so relatable idk about the portal thing tho but if its gonna be as sharp and absurd as melissa wolfes description itll definitely be worth my time

omg I'm so stoked for these 2 dudes from Solar Opposites!!! I mean I just finished watching the last ep of that show and it was literally one of my fave things on TV rn... And now they're bringing their brand of dark humor to Amazon Prime? That's a sick move, fam! I've been hearing whispers about this new series Odd Jobs and from what I've seen so far it looks like they're keeping the same vibe as Solar Opposites but with even more absurdity. I love how they stumbled upon that crazy future concept by accident... genius right?! Can't wait to see what kind of wackiness these guys come up with next 🀣

omg I'm so hyped for this new show 🀩 but like, what's with the year 2127 tho? Is that like, a thing now or what? πŸ˜‚ I mean, can we just go back to normal times for once? And btw, have you guys seen those jobs on the ODD JOBS app? They sound kinda weird... is it like, a simulation or something? πŸ€”

omg i'm so down for another animated show from the creator of solar opposites 🀣 i mean, who wouldn't want more of that weird and wonderful alien comedy? and this concept for odd jobs sounds SO interesting... like what's up with humanity devolving into a late-stage capitalist hellscape? anyway, can't wait to see what they do with it! πŸ‘€

omg i just watched all of solar opposites in like 2 days lol what's with these creators going on new projects tho? didn't they do good or something? anyway i guess it's cool that there's another show coming out, but can we talk about the future for a sec? like, 2127 is kinda soon, right? 🀯 and how does this app thing work? are we all just gonna be gig workers forever? lol what if we get bored of our jobs and just quit? πŸ™ƒ

Just saw that Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes are back with a new animated series 🀩 on Amazon Prime Video! I'm stoked to hear that they're bringing their signature dark humor to Odd Jobs in 2127. The concept of gig workers navigating a crazy late-stage capitalist future has me hooked πŸ˜‚. Can't wait to see what kind of absurdity these two bring to the table πŸ’‘. Amazon is really killing it with original content right now πŸŽ‰, and I'm hyped to dive into Odd Jobs when it drops! πŸ“Ί

omg i'm literally freaking out right now 🀯! two of my fave ppl from solar opposites are making an AMAZING new show on amazon prime video! i mean we all loved solar opposites so much, and now they're bringing the same brand of humor and weirdness to odd jobs. i need to know more about this app that these gig workers are using, sounds like it's gonna be SO wild πŸ€ͺ. can't wait for the release date, gotta have my weekly dose of absurdity πŸ˜‚. anyone else hyped? 🀩

πŸ€” I'm loving the idea of a dystopian animated series that's just absurd enough to make me laugh...and think about how screwed we've gotten in life πŸ€‘ 2127, huh? Who would've thought our late-stage capitalist society would be this ridiculous? πŸ˜‚ Can't wait to see what kind of zany adventures these gig workers get themselves into on Odd Jobs! πŸ‘€

I just had the craziest dream last night about trying to cook ramen noodles for the first time in space πŸš€πŸœ. I mean, can you imagine? You're floating around zero gravity, and your packet of instant noodles is just... floating away from you. Like, what even is the point of cooking noodles in space?! 🀣 Anyway, back to this new show Odd Jobs – I'm curious to see how they tackle that whole late-stage capitalist hellscape thing. And hey, if it's as absurd and funny as Solar Opposites, I'll be there for it! Maybe Amazon Prime Video should consider adding a random trivia game feature on their platform... you know, like "Guess the weird thing people are trying to cook in space"? πŸ€”πŸ’‘

I'm so down for this new animated show! 🀯 I mean, what's not to love about a future where humans have devolved into some kinda crazy capitalist nightmare? Sounds like my aunt at a Trump rally πŸ€‘... just kidding, kinda. Anyway, Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes are genius! I loved Solar Opposites and I'm stoked they're bringing that same brand of humor to Odd Jobs. The idea of a gig worker team traveling through the neo-Midwest sounds like an absolute blast πŸ˜‚. I hope it's not too long before we get to see what kind of zany antics these characters come up with. Bring on the laughs and the commentary on our society, I'm ready for this! πŸ€ͺ

omg u guys, i'm literally stoked about this new show odd jobs! 🀯 the concept is wild, like, who wouldn't want to travel through the neo-midwest completing crazy tasks assigned by some app? πŸ“± it sounds like a fusion of solar opposites' absurd humor with some serious commentary on our current state of capitalism. i'm also low-key hyped that the co-creators stumbled upon this idea by accident, lol, like what even is life if not a wild series of events? πŸ˜‚ can't wait to see it premier on amazon prime and get my laugh on! 🀣

ugh, amazon prime video's latest move feels like just another way for them to monopolize our entertainment options 🀯. i mean, can't they just let hulu keep solar opposes or something? it seems like every time they create something good, they just sell it off to another platform and forget about the original creators... anyway, hope odd jobs turns out better than some of their other attempts at quirky humor

πŸ€– another talented duo from Hulu's Solar Opposites team has gone to create something new and I'm not holding my breath thinking it'll last longer than 6 seasons πŸ˜’. Amazon Prime Video getting more and more desperate for new content, releasing shows that are kinda similar to the ones they already have πŸ“Ί. Odd Jobs' premise sounds funny but is it just a rehashed version of Solar Opposites' formula? We all know how long those guys lasted at Hulu... 🀣

omg you guys I'm so down for another wild ride from Mike McMahan & Dominic Dierkes after solar opposites πŸ€ͺ...I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show that's like, the opposite of our current world? πŸ˜‚ I'm intrigued by the idea of these gig workers traveling through the neo-Midwest and completing absurd tasks assigned by this ODD JOBS app πŸ“±. It sounds like it could be a commentary on our society's obsession with capitalism and technology πŸ€–...and if it's gonna be sharp, absurd, and laugh-out-loud funny, I'm all in πŸ’―...but at the same time, I'm also a little nervous about what kind of themes they're gonna tackle πŸ€”. Can't wait for more info tho! πŸ˜‰

omg i cant even believe its another one from the creators of solar opposites lol like whats wrong with hulu? 🀣 anyway i'm super hyped about odd jobs it sounds so funny and also kinda deep what if our future is like that we're all just trying to survive in a crazy world? i need to see more of this show ASAP! πŸ’₯
