I gotta say, the Astrodome is like a symbol of Houston's history and spirit 
. It's crazy to think it's been vacant for so long. I feel bad for the city, 'cause that place has so much character 
.But for real tho, Governor Abbott's got some valid points about not wanting to burden taxpayers with another major project
. At the same time, I get what Josh Wallenstein is saying about revitalizing the area and bringing in new life 
. It's all about finding that balance, you know? 
I'm loving the trend of more people being independent voters, though
. It's like, we're finally starting to think for ourselves and not just follow the party line 
. That's the kind of change I can get behind 
.
. I mean Governor Abbott said it himself, he's super skeptical and that's not the first time he's been vocal about not wanting to spend big bucks on revamping it. It's like, we get it, it's a historical landmark but come on... there are so many other cool things we could be investing in instead 
I'm all for preserving history and all, but not at the cost of our tax dollars, you feel?
