To find homes for some of PSPCA's oldest pets, Ensemble Arts is offering free tickets to 'Beauty and the Beast'

Eight Pennsylvania SPCA pets are set for a second act thanks to a unique collaboration with Ensemble Arts Philly, who will give away free tickets to "Beauty and the Beast" as part of their "TAIL As Old As Time" promotion.

The eight animals - five dogs and three cats - were carefully chosen by PSPCA staff and matched with characters from the beloved musical. The pets are among the PSPCA's oldest and most overlooked, but will now have a chance at finding forever homes thanks to the show.

Adoption fees for these senior pets will be waived during the show's run from February 11-22, giving them an extra opportunity to find their perfect match. In addition, adopters will receive a pair of tickets to the musical as part of Ensemble Arts' Family Discovery Series.

The eight pets were carefully selected by PSPCA staff who were looking for animals with unique personalities that stood out. A 15-year-old cat named London Paris was matched with Babette from the musical, while an 11-year-old dog named Sky embodies Belle's intelligent and curious nature. On the other hand, a 7-year-old dog named Simba takes on the role of the Beast.

The partnership between Ensemble Arts Philly and PSPCA is seen as a welcome break in the traditional pet adoption process. "So often we find adopters in search of puppies or kittens, but adopting a senior animal is truly a privilege," said Gillian Kocher, PSPCA Director of Public Relations. "They have so much love to give and their family gets to usher them through such an important time - their last chapters."

The collaboration also aligns with Ensemble Arts' values of tolerance and seeing beauty beyond first impressions. The musical's themes of compassion, transformation, and love perfectly complement the PSPCA's mission to find homes for these deserving senior pets.

One of the featured animals has already been adopted after being featured on NBC10, giving hope that other pets may also find their forever families through this unique partnership.

🐈 I was watching an old video of my niece's birthday party from like 5 years ago and she was playing with these adorable stuffed animals and I swear it felt like time just flew by πŸ•°οΈ. Anyway, back to the pets... I think it's so cool that they're getting to be part of "Beauty and the Beast" - those animals must have a lot of sass for being matched with the characters 🀣. Senior pets deserve all the love too, you know? They've got so much experience under their belts (or should I say whiskers πŸ˜‰). It's great that PSPCA is giving them a second chance at finding their forever homes πŸ’•

omg i just saw this thread from like 2 weeks ago and i have to jump in lol 🀣 these senior pets are literally going to be the best thing since sliced bread!! who wouldn't want a 15 year old cat named London Paris or an 11 year old dog named Sky?? they're already winners in my book! and to think they get free tickets to beauty and the beast?? its like they're getting two treats at once 🍰🎭 i'm seriously considering visiting philly just to adopt one of these lovelies πŸ˜‚

Man I'm so down for a show about seniors getting a second act! Like, think about it, these dogs and cats have lived a whole life already, they've got stories to tell just like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast πŸΎπŸ’•. And honestly, I think adopting an older pet is a super underrated thing, they're so laid back and chill, you won't even notice they're there 😴. It's awesome that PSPCA is giving them a chance to shine with this promotion, and Ensemble Arts Philly is on it too! πŸŽπŸ‘

πŸ€” I'm not sure about this 'TAIL As Old As Time' promotion... it's nice that they're trying to give senior pets a chance at finding homes but is it just a publicity stunt? πŸ€‘ I mean, what if people only adopt these older animals because of the free tickets and attention surrounding the event? 🎟️ The PSPCA staff chose those dogs and cats with unique personalities... but won't the adoption process be stressful for them in general?

I'm all about adopting seniors, I do have a soft spot for old fur babies πŸ˜”... but wouldn't it be better to promote their adoption through regular online ads or social media campaigns instead of relying on one specific event? πŸ“± The promotion seems like it's more focused on 'Beauty and the Beast' than actually helping these pets find forever homes. 🎭

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." 🌟 It's heartwarming to see how a unique collaboration can give a second chance to some wonderful seniors, and I'm sure many hearts will be won over by these lovely animals! ❀️

this is so amazing πŸΎπŸ’• i mean who wouldn't wanna watch "beauty and the beast" while falling in love with these adorable seniors 🀩 they need all the love and attention they can get, especially at their age πŸ™ and i love how ensemble arts philly is all about giving them a second chance πŸŽ‰ adopting from shelters should be our top priority, every pet deserves a forever home ❀️ those senior dogs and cats are already 15+ years old, can you imagine having to spend the rest of your life in a shelter? 🀯 anyway, i'm so down for this "tail as old as time" promotion πŸ’– let's get these babies adopted ASAP! 🚨

OMG, like, can we talk about how amazing this is?! 🀩 Eight furry friends getting a second chance at love and a sick pair of tix to Beauty and the Beast? 🎭 I mean, who wouldn't want to find a forever home with someone who's already proven they're willing to shell out cash for cat food on NBC10? πŸ˜‚ But seriously, this collab is giving me all the feels. Like, senior pets being matched with characters from the musical? It's like Ensemble Arts Philly and PSPCA knew exactly what we needed: a way to show us that age is just a number (and also a lot of love). I'm low-key hoping one of these animals gets adopted and becomes the ultimate #catsofTwitter fam πŸˆπŸ’•
