Competitive Wordle players, it's double points Friday. This is the moment you've been waiting for – to tackle today's challenge and earn those precious points. To begin, we'll dive into the solution of today's Wordle.
For those who missed yesterday's guide, check out our previous article on how to solve Thursday's Wordle.
In addition to today's main Wordle, there's also a bonus 7-letter word with each daily guide. This custom word is an extra challenge for you, but don't worry – we've got hints and the answer right here.
The hint for today's Wordle is simple: like a canyon. Again. The clue says that the word ends in a vowel. We also know yesterday's custom Wordle answer was RAVINE.
So, let's get started! Our starting word for today is BLADE. We have 111 words left to guess and two yellow boxes – time to juggle our vowels with CATER or possibly even RACER. After the fact, I discovered that PACER could also be a valid option.
Now that we've solved today's Wordle, let's look at the competitive scores.
Wordle Bot's starting word was SLATE, and my guess was BLADE – which earned me 93 "Skill" points from Wordle Bot. However, after two yellow boxes, I opted for CATER or RACER. Unfortunately for Wordle Bot, it fell short by just one guess. So, I scored a point, while the Bot lost – giving me a total of four points and the Bot -2.
The rules for Competitive Wordle are as follows:
- Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 point; and guessing in 6 is -2 points. Missing the Wordle results in a score of -3.
When you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you tie, you receive 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you gain -1 point. Keep track of your daily scores or play for a new score each day – enjoy!
