Trader Joe's coming to Uptown, records hint

New Trader Joe's Location in Uptown Chicago Set to Open: City Records Confirm

Chicago is about to welcome its next Trader Joe's store, according to city records. The popular grocery chain has applied for a packaged goods liquor license at 804 W. Montrose Ave., a location previously occupied by vegan food hall XMarket, which closed in November last year.

The news comes as no surprise, given rumors of a new Uptown location have been circulating since late summer. In August, Block Club Chicago reported that Trader Joe's had applied for the liquor license, sparking speculation about the store's plans for the area.

A spokesperson for Trader Joe's confirmed that they are "actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country" and mentioned the possibility of opening more stores in Chicago each year. However, when asked directly about the Uptown location, the company refused to comment.

This is not the first time Trader Joe's has been linked to a new Chicago location. The chain already has six locations in the city, as well as one in Evanston, and was expected to open a seventh store in Jefferson Park before reports indicated it would no longer be opening at a former CVS Pharmacy site. The company has since stated that they are "actively looking for a great location" in Jefferson Park.

The addition of a new Trader Joe's store in Uptown is likely to bring more job opportunities and economic activity to the area, which has seen significant investment and development in recent years. With its unique product offerings and competitive pricing, Trader Joe's has become a favorite among Chicagoans, making it an exciting prospect for local residents.

As construction and renovation plans move forward, Uptown residents can look forward to another major retail player joining their community.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€ I'm so stoked about this new Trader Joe's coming to Uptown Chi! They're gonna bring even more awesome stuff for us to try, and I mean who doesn't love their Two Buck Chuck? ๐Ÿคฃ Plus, it's always a win when they open up new spots, creating jobs and economic activity. It's like, the more options we have in our neighborhood, the better. And let's be real, those unique products are what make TJ's so lovable. I'm super excited to check out this new store and see what all the fuss is about! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” So this new Trader Joe's store in Uptown Chicago is gonna be a game-changer, right? I mean, think about it, more jobs and economic activity are just what our city needs to keep growing. But let's not forget, who benefits from all these new businesses? It's gotta be the people with deep pockets, you know? The ones who can afford to shell out top dollar for those fancy store openings.

And have you seen the rent prices in Uptown lately? Outrageous! I mean, I'm all for a little competition, but it seems like some of these big-box stores are just price-gouging us locals. What's up with that?

On the other hand, Trader Joe's is known for its unique product offerings and competitive pricing, which could really bring down costs for regular people. But, I wonder, who gets to decide what products get stocked in those stores? Is it gonna be the big-box chains or small businesses like XMarket? We need more transparency on that front.

All in all, I think this new Trader Joe's store is a good thing for Uptown Chicago, but we gotta keep an eye out for who really gets to benefit from it. ๐Ÿค‘

๐Ÿค” so I heard the new Trader Joe's location in Uptown is finally happening lol, no surprise there tho, everyone was talking about it since last summer. The thing is, 804 W Montrose Ave seems like a great spot, lots of foot traffic and already has a parking lot, what more can you ask for? ๐Ÿš— the fact that XMarket closed down in Nov also makes sense 'cause I heard they were having some issues with the building. anyway, it's gonna be sick to have another Trader Joe's around here, plus new jobs and economic growth is always a win ๐Ÿ’ธ can't wait to try out their Two Buck Chuck again ๐Ÿท

๐Ÿค” I'm not surprised about the new Trader Joe's location in Uptown Chicago - the rumors had been circulating for a while, after all ๐Ÿ˜. It's actually a great news for the area, considering how much investment and development has been happening there recently ๐Ÿ’ฐ. The addition of another major retail player like Trader Joe's will definitely bring more job opportunities and economic activity to the community ๐ŸŒฑ. Plus, who doesn't love their unique products and competitive pricing? ๐Ÿ˜Š It'll be interesting to see how this new location integrates with the existing infrastructure, but overall, it's a win-win for Uptown residents ๐Ÿ‘
