Trump admin's Ukraine peace proposal sparks swift backlash from European officials

I don't know about this US peace proposal... seems like a pretty big ask for Ukraine . Downsize their military and give up control of occupied territory? That sounds super risky for them, especially considering Russia's history of not keeping its word . I mean, French Minister Barrot is right on point when he says "peace cannot be capitulation" - Ukraine needs to maintain its sovereignty if it wants any kind of lasting peace. And what about the EU backing this plan? It seems like they're just rubber-stamping without giving Ukrainian officials a seat at the table .

omg u r not even kidding i mean i get that both sides want peace but downsize ukraine's military and forsake those long-range weapons? that sounds like a recipe for disaster and whats with this idea of russian control over occupied territory tho thats just plain ridiculous. i can see why the ukrainian officials are all bent out of shape about it too. i mean who do we think is going to negotiate this one? steve witkoff or volodymyr zelensky? lol no way jose

IM HOPEFULLY THIS PLAN WOULDN'T WORK OUT!!! THEY'RE OFFERING UP ALL OF UKRAINE'S LONG RANGE WEAPONS AND LETTING RUSSIA TAKE CONTROL OVER SOME OF THE TERRITORY... THAT JUST CAN'T BE RIGHT!!! ZELENSKYY SAYS HIS COUNTRY JUST WANTS PEACE, BUT HOW CAN YOU EXPECT PEACE WHEN YOU'RE GIVING UP ALL YOUR DEFENSES?!? IT'S LIKE THEY'RE ASKING UKRAINE TO JUST ROLL OVER AND ACCEPT A DEAL THAT WAS NEVER ON THE TABLE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
