OMG I remember when Eastern Europe was all about communism and not much else... Fast forward to today and it's like they're trying to recreate that era but this time with nationalism And Orban is just riding the wave of anti-EU sentiment, using his party as a shield from criticism. But what really gets me is how he's framing Ukraine's desire for EU membership as a threat Like, what's wrong with wanting to be part of the club and have some economic stability? It's not like Hungary is going to magically become rich by itself And now they're just going to turn off the tap on financial aid to Ukraine? That's just gonna make things worse I mean, I get that Orban wants to support Hungarian families, but this isn't a zero-sum game Where's the empathy for Ukraine?
Ugh, come on , Hungary can't just accuse Ukraine of crossing a line and then pretend they're not involved in all this drama . Like, if they were really so concerned about corruption, why are they still dealing with the EU's gas imports from Russia? It's not like Ukraine is asking for help .
And Orban's "supporting Hungarian families" line is just a bunch of patriotic nonsense . Who exactly does he think is going to benefit from blocking Ukraine's EU membership? The Russian oligarchs who are backing him up? Give me a break . This whole thing is just politics as usual, with nationalism being used to scare the masses into supporting Orban .
