Trump denies Greenland threats could risk Nato alliance, claiming 'things are going to work out very well' – live

US President Donald Trump has downplayed concerns about the potential risks to the Nato alliance posed by his plan to acquire Greenland, saying "things are going to work out very well" and claiming he is confident an agreement will be reached during planned meetings in Davos.

Trump stated that something will occur that will be good for everyone. He added that the US would find a way to cooperate with Nato where both sides are happy.

The President also expressed his confidence in reaching a deal over Greenland's financial commitments made by other countries, saying "I doubt it" and noting that Nato members have fought hard to secure an agreement and need this deal badly.

Trump refused to reveal how far he is willing to go to acquire Greenland, stating "You'll find out." He stated that the US has multiple alternatives and what they're doing now is the best option.

In a meeting of the Board of Peace announced last week by Trump, it might replace the United Nations.

Trump also expressed admiration for Norway's energy use in the North Sea but believes that Norway controls the Nobel peace prize awarding process. The US president claimed to have settled eight wars and many participants sent recommendations which suggests he is an accomplished war commander.

The White House press briefing was running late, but will bring you all the latest from Trump about his Greenland plan once it begins.

.. this guy's got some serious nerve 🤯. Like, what exactly does he think he's going to get away with here? Acquiring a whole island nation? It's just begging for trouble. And now he's talking about Nato like they're all just going to roll over and play nice? Please, it's not that simple. I mean, have you seen the current state of global politics? The US is basically just trying to flex its muscles and see how far it can push everyone else before they snap.

And let's be real, what's really behind this whole Greenland thing? Is it just some crazy ego trip or is there something more sinister going on? I'm not buying the "I've got a good feeling about this" nonsense. This guy's a master manipulator and we need to keep a close eye on him. Mark my words, this is just the tip of the iceberg 🚨

🤔 I'm not sure what's more concerning, the fact that Trump is trying to acquire Greenland or that he thinks Nato members need this deal badly 🙄. Like, if he's confident it'll work out for everyone, why is he being so secretive about it? And what does he mean by "something will occur that will be good for everyone"? Is he seriously suggesting that Nato members are just going to roll over and agree to whatever the US wants?

And let's not forget about his claims of being an accomplished war commander 😒. Eight wars settled in one person's lifetime? That sounds like a pretty tall order to me. Not to mention, if he thinks Norway controls the Nobel peace prize awarding process, that just proves how out of touch he is with reality 🤷‍♂️.

I'm just waiting for more info from the White House press briefing to see what other gems Trump has in store for us 😎

Man, can you believe this guy? 😂 He's always been a bit of a wild card, but this takes the cake. I mean, who tries to buy an entire island? 🤯 It's just not something you do, you know? And now he's saying things are gonna work out and everyone's gonna be happy... yeah right. 🙄 We've seen how his "deals" go down before, remember that time with Russia? 🚫 It's just not in his nature to be diplomatic.

And what's with the Davos meetings? He thinks a few fancy conferences are gonna make everything okay? 😂 Newsflash, Donald: it doesn't work like that. And Norway's energy use? That's cool and all, but come on... you can't control the Nobel peace prize, buddy! 🙄 It's just not possible.

You know what's funny? The fact that some people are taking this seriously. 😂 I mean, we've got more pressing issues in the world than who owns an island. Let's focus on actual problems, shall we? 💡

I think this whole thing with Greenland is a perfect example of how not to negotiate 🤦‍♂️. I mean, who downplays concerns like that? It's always better to listen and consider others' perspectives rather than just saying "things will work out" 💡. And what's with the confidence trick? Can't we have a real discussion about what's at stake here?

And let's not forget, this isn't just about Greenland - it's about the bigger picture of international relations 🌎. We need to think about how our actions might impact others and work together to find solutions that benefit everyone 🤝. It's easy to get caught up in our own interests, but true leadership is about finding common ground and working towards a greater good.

It's also interesting to see the US trying to replace the UN with some new board of peace 🤔. I'm not sure if that's going to be more effective or just create another layer of bureaucracy 🚫. At the end of the day, we need real, collaborative effort from world leaders to tackle the challenges we face - not just empty promises and confidence tricks 😐

🤔 like how serious is trump being with this whole greenland thing? 🌿 is it just a big bluff or does he really think nato is gonna be on board with america buying up the island? 😂 and omg did you see that part about the nobel peace prize 🏆 i dont get why he thinks norway has control over it. 🤦‍♂️ didnt he just say something about nato members fighting hard for an agreement? 🤔 now theyre just gonna be like "yeah sure americas buying greenland we got this" 😒

I'm not sure if I fully trust Trump's intentions here... 🤔 He seems to be downplaying concerns and saying everything will work out well, but what's in it for everyone? Is this just a power play or is there actually something good for the Nato alliance that we don't know about yet?

And can we really believe he's confident an agreement on Greenland's financial commitments will be reached when others have been struggling to get one? 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure it's great that Norway's energy use in the North Sea is impressive, but come on, Trump saying you'll find out how far he's willing to go... yeah right! 🔮

It's also weird that he thinks he can just replace the UN with some new Board of Peace. Like, what even is the point of that? And the claim about settling eight wars and getting Nobel peace prizes... sounds like a bit too much to me 🤣. Maybe we'll get more info at the press briefing, but for now, I'm keeping a healthy dose of skepticism! 😐

🤦‍♂️ I'm not sure what's going on with this whole Greenland thing 🌎. Trump is like "things are gonna work out" and then just leaves it at that... 😒 It sounds kinda vague to me? Like, what exactly does he think is gonna happen here? Are we expecting some kind of magic deal 💫 or something? I also don't get why he's comparing himself to some sort of war hero 🤺♂️. He hasn't even been in a real war, dude... 😅 And that part about the Nobel prize thing? Um, no 🙄. Norway controls who wins peace prizes? That doesn't add up 🤯. I'm just hoping someone can get some clarity on what's really going on here 📝

so like trump is trying to calm everyone down on the nato thingy... 🤔 i get that he's confident about it, but can't help feeling a bit skeptical 😐 especially when he says "you'll find out" about how far he's willing to go - what's up with that? 🙅‍♂️ and btw, being able to "settle 8 wars" sounds like a pretty big claim to me... 💥 i mean, not saying it's impossible, but come on dude! 😎

omg is trump for real? 🤯 buying greenland like its nothing 😂 meanwhile nato alliance is already shook 💔 didnt know he had a peace board lol wth 🚫 dont think i need to know how far hes willing to go tho 🤑 guess we'll just have to wait and see 👀
