Trump says he and Hegseth didn't know about second strike on alleged Venezuelan drug boat – video

I'm getting really confused about this whole thing... So Trump says he didn't know about the planned second strike and then suddenly we're talking about it like they totally did plan it? It's all very suspicious, but at the same time I don't think we should jump to conclusions just yet. The footage from the Pentagon shows that the US Navy really did intercept this boat and take action against it, so I'm not sure what Trump is trying to hide. It just seems like he's trying to cover his own backside now that things have gotten a bit out of hand. Can someone please just give me a clear explanation of what's going on here?

this whole thing is super weird... i mean, you'd think if they were gonna do something, they'd at least have some solid plan in place? but nope, it seems like they just kinda went with the flow and launched a strike when they felt like it? not exactly the most inspiring example of how to handle international diplomacy... and what's up with all these conflicting statements from trump anyway? it's hard to take him seriously at this point.
