Trump says he expects ‘great deal’ with China at summit with Xi

US President Donald Trump believes a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping will yield a "great deal" for both nations. The expected trade agreement has been a long time coming, with the two leaders last meeting face-to-face in 2019.

Trump's optimism stems from a speech given to business leaders on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea. He described the trade deal as "something very exciting for everybody" and claimed it would be better than engaging in "fighting and going through all sorts of problems."

Details about the anticipated agreement remain scarce, but Trump hinted that it will address issues such as tariffs on Chinese goods and Beijing's failure to crack down on fentanyl production. The deal may include China taking steps to curb fentanyl production and deferring planned export controls on rare earth minerals.

Trump also expressed confidence in finalizing a trade agreement with South Korea "very soon." However, negotiations between the two countries have been stalled over the specifics of a $350 billion investment package that Seoul has pledged in exchange for reduced tariffs.

I'm thinking it's gonna be tough to get this deal done 🤔. I mean, Trump is saying some pretty positive things about it, but we've heard that before and nothing ever seems to happen. The fentanyl thing is a big concern for me - we can't just ignore the fact that China hasn't been doing enough to stop production. And $350 billion from South Korea? That's a lot of money 💸. I'm not sure if Trump is being realistic about how much that's gonna get us. Maybe he's just trying to get something done before election time 🕰️. But what if it doesn't work out? What then? 😬

im not sure why trump is so hyped about this trade deal 🤔 it sounds like more of the same old promises from china to do better on fentanyl and rare earth minerals... how many times have we seen those promises fall through? 😐 and what about the people who are actually affected by these issues, not just some high-level business leaders? shouldn't we be focusing on solutions that help the everyday person, not just trying to get a good deal for the US economy 💸

can u believe this?? trump thinks he can just magic up some kinda trade deal with china? like, we all know how those talks usually go 🙄 they're always about who's gonna give in on what... and now he's like "oh it'll be great" 🤣 i mean, sure it'll be better than fighting, but still... tariffs, fentanyl, rare earth minerals... these are serious issues 🤑 and south korea is all like "we need that investment package or we're outta here" 🤝 good luck with that trump 💪

I'm kinda skeptical about this whole summit thing... I mean, what if it just sounds good on paper? We've heard so many promises from our teachers about new textbooks or better school facilities, but they always seem to get stuck on the bureaucracy side of things 🤔. Trump's optimism is understandable, but we should also be prepared for some potential trade-offs. What if it means we'll have to make some sacrifices in the education sector? Like, maybe we'll have to cut funding for extracurricular activities or something 📚💸. I guess only time will tell, though!

idk about this trump guy, he's always saying something will be "great" but it never seems to happen 🤔. i mean, the last time these 2 leaders met was like 6 years ago and now they're gonna just magically agree on everything? 😒. what's the actual plan here? how do we know china's gonna take steps to curb fentanyl production when trump says so? 🚨 need some real sources on this one, not just trump's word.

and what about south korea? they're like "oh yeah, we'll give you $350 billion if you reduce our tariffs" but where's the proof that it's actually gonna happen? 😒. this whole thing feels like a bunch of empty promises to me 🤑. i'm not buying it without some solid info

I gotta say, I'm still skeptical about Trump's optimism 🤔. It feels like we've heard this promise before from him and it never panned out 📉. The fact that they only last met face-to-face 6 years ago is a bit concerning...like what's changed since then? 😐 Also, the trade deal sounds too good to be true - China taking steps on fentanyl production would be a huge win for the US, but at what cost? Are they really willing to compromise that much? 🤷‍♂️ And what about the specifics of this $350 billion investment package? I don't trust a word Trump says when it comes to trade deals 💸. Can we please get some concrete details before getting our hopes up again? 😒

idk how realistic this whole thing is lol 🤔 US & China are like 2 different worlds right now. I mean Trump's always talking about making deals, but what about all the issues they're still struggling with? Like, have you seen the numbers on fentanyl production in China? It's insane! And what about South Korea's $350 billion investment package? How is that even gonna work out? 🤑

I'm all for diplomacy and stuff, but Trump's gotta be careful here. He can't just wave a magic wand and make everything okay. There are too many complex issues to ignore. I'd love to see more concrete details on this trade agreement before getting too hyped. And what about the human impact? How will this affect everyday people in both countries? We need to think about that stuff too, you know? 💡

🤔 I'm kinda surprised Trump is so hyped about this summit 🙄, especially after all the drama and disagreements we've seen with China on trade. It seems like a lot of hot air to me 💨, but hey, you can't blame him for trying 🤷‍♂️. The fact that he's even optimistic about it is kinda refreshing, I guess 😊. But let's be real, this deal has been in the works for ages 🕰️, and we've seen plenty of "breakthroughs" and "setbacks" before... so, fingers crossed it actually happens this time 🤞! The fentanyl thing is a major concern tho - I just hope they can make some progress on that 💔. And btw, what's up with the South Korea investment package? $350 billion sounds like a small price to pay for reduced tariffs 🤑

Ugh, this is gonna be a total disaster 🤦‍♂️! Trump's all smiles and rainbows about some trade deal with China? Please, we all know he's just trying to get re-elected by making promises he can't keep. And now he thinks it's gonna magically fix everything from fentanyl production to rare earth minerals? Give me a break 🙄. I mean, what makes him think China is gonna just roll over and play nice after all the crap they've been given in recent years? Not to mention that we're still dealing with the mess he made of our trade relations with China in the first place 😒. And now he's talking about South Korea too? This guy's got some serious nerve 💁‍♂️... and I'm not buying it 🤑.

I'm low-key skeptical about this summit 🤔. Trump's always good at talking trash before it all falls apart 💁‍♀️. I mean, how can he be so optimistic after years of failed negotiations? It's probably just a PR stunt to make him look like a hero again 😒. The details on the trade deal are super vague, and I bet there's more to the story than what Trump's sharing 🤫. And don't even get me started on South Korea – they're not exactly known for being reliable when it comes to keeping their promises 💸. It'd be a miracle if this deal actually happens without some major hitch 🔮. Still, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out 🕰️.

🤔 I'm so hyped about this summit! Trump's optimism is contagious 😅 and if it leads to a trade deal, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief 🙏. I mean, who doesn't want lower tariffs on Chinese goods? It's like, the ultimate win-win 🤑. Plus, addressing fentanyl production is a major priority for many countries - it's about time China takes this seriously 🕊️. And the thought of rare earth minerals being decontrolled? Game-changer 💥. I'm not gonna lie, though... I'm also a bit curious about how this whole thing will play out. Will we see some concrete numbers on that $350 billion investment package? Time'll tell ⏰!

🤩 I'm so hyped about this summit thingy! Trump's all about it and I'm like yay, more trade agreement 🎉💸! It's about time we get some deal done with China, they've been holding us back for ages 😒. I mean, who doesn't love a good bargain? 💼👍 The fentanyl thing is super important too, we can't just let that stuff spread around the world 🤢. And let's be real, it's about time China starts taking steps to curb that production 🚫.

I'm also low-key hoping for some progress with South Korea, $350 billion investment package? That sounds like a sweet deal 💸💻! I know negotiations can get tough but Trump seems confident, so fingers crossed he gets it done soon 🤞. We need this deal to happen ASAP, all these trade wars are getting old 😴.

trump thinks he's got a good shot at getting a trade deal with china lol, but let's be real, it's not like he hasn't tried before and failed 🤦‍♂️. still, if he can get something done this time around, that's def a win for the us. fentanyl production is a huge issue, so hopefully they can come to some sort of agreement there 🤞. but seriously, 350 billion from south korea? that's a pretty big ask 🤑. not sure how it's gonna play out in the end, but you never know, maybe trump's finally got a clue 😂.

🤔 I'm kinda skeptical about this whole summit thing 🤷‍♂️. Trump's always been known for his optimistic vibes, but let's be real, it's easy to get caught up in the hype when you're trying to make a deal happen 🤑. I mean, sure, a trade agreement would be awesome for both countries and all that jazz... but what's the actual plan here? 🤔 We've been hearing about this stuff since 2019 and nothing's really materialized yet 🕰️. And let's not forget about South Korea... their investors are getting impatient, bro 😩. I think we should take a step back and wait for some concrete details before getting too excited 📝. Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't... but until then, let's keep our expectations in check 😬
