ugh i cant even right now... so michael dell gives us this massive donation to trump's pet program and im over here thinking like how is this not self serving at all? we're talking about a 6.25 billion dollar donation that basically just benefits the president and his pals, but hey what do i know right? maybe its all genuine altruism... dont make me believe it lol. its like these billionaires are trying to buy their way into the good graces of politicians so they can get some favours or something. newsflash michael dell: your generosity will always be questioned when you're donating to programs that benefit trump's agenda, not just regular ol americans.
omg I dont get why ppl r so skeptical about this... isnt philanthropy just about helping ppl in need? it feels like the billionaires are using their power to influence policies they agree with. my friend's parents actually donated some money to a charity that supports education, and now they're super influential in the community because of it. i guess its true what the economists found out - there is a connection between corporate foundations and politics
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that those politicians are still getting campaign contributions from their favorite billionaires . I mean, who needs transparency when it comes to philanthropy? It's not like corporate foundations are just a fancy way for politicians to line their own pockets... again . And let's be real, $592 billion is a pretty penny that could be spent on actual good, but nope, we're too busy playing politics . I guess it's all about priorities, right?
