"Try not to get filmed": Davidson returns to "Saturday Night Live" as Homan, offers ICE advice

Pete Davidson's return to "Saturday Night Live" marked a welcome respite from James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump impersonation, as the comedian took on the role of Tom Homan in a cringe-worthy cold open. Donning a bald cap, Davidson played the "border czar" who was tasked with addressing the bumbling antics of ICE agents in Minneapolis.

Davidson's explanation for the departure of former Border Patrol Commander-at-large Greg Bovino from duty quickly devolved into a nonsensical jumble of reasons, including public lies about shooting an American citizen and dressing like a Nazi – "the president no likey that." The agent's attempts to remind himself of his operation in Minnesota were met with hilariously off-the-cuff guesses from Kenan Thompson, Andrew Dismukes, and Johnson.

As the meeting continued, Davidson tried to impart some semblance of order on the chaotic scene, only to be met with more absurdity. When asked about what ICE agents should be looking for, Thompson replied "Epstein files," prompting Davidson to sarcastically remark that those documents were released as a distraction from this very meeting – an ironic twist.

The out-of-control meeting reached its boiling point when one of the agents suggested that Davidson's tactics might have been part of the problem. In response, Davidson quipped "Don't start thinking now! Drop and give me 20." The situation only became more bizarre, with agent Dismukes offering a parody of a military drill instruction – "three, with knees, girl style?" – in an attempt to defuse the tension.

In the end, Homan's attempt to impose some semblance of order on the scene came down to a single, telling phrase: "try not to get filmed." This was the most sensible advice Davidson could muster in a meeting that had rapidly descended into chaos. As the sketch came to a close, it left viewers wondering just how far Homan's leadership had fallen – and whether anyone at ICE had actually been paying attention during this ill-fated briefing.

I'm loving the new format of SNL's cold opens! 🤣 The bald cap on Pete Davidson's Tom Homan was hilarious, but what really got me was how his character just threw in the towel and told the agents to try not to get filmed 😂. I mean, come on, that's like the ultimate cop-out for a 'border czar'! 👮‍♂️ The sketch had all these cringe-worthy moments, especially when Kenan Thompson dropped that Epstein files reference 🤯. But honestly, it was still kinda entertaining to watch Davidson try to impose order on the chaotic scene. Maybe they should just leave it to him from now on 😜. And omg, Andrew Dismukes' military drill parody was EVERYTHING 💁‍♀️! Overall, I'm here for more of this kind of absurd humor 🤣👏

omg yessss finally some sanity returns to SNL after that trump impersonation was driving me insane lol davidson nailed the tom homan character though 🤣, i mean that guy is a joke but davidson's take on him was spot on 👏 especially with that "try not to get filmed" line, it's like he just threw in the towel and was like "help me" 😂 also love how kenan thompson just kept spouting random nonsense, it's like he was trying to be funny but really he just got roasted 🤣

omg this cold open was EVERYTHING 😂🤣 i loved how pete davidson as tom homan went from trying to be serious to total meltdown mode, it was like he was trying to keep a straight face but just ended up cracking under the pressure 🤦‍♂️ and kenan thompson's "epstein files" joke tho 🙄 was pure gold 💯

🤦‍♂️ I think Pete Davidson did a great job poking fun at Tom Homan's antics without being too mean-spirited, you know? It was like he was saying "hey, come on guys, let's get our act together" 🙄. The sketch was pretty ridiculous but it felt like it was going for a satire vibe rather than actual hate towards ICE or its agents. I think that's what made it work so well 😂. And oh man, Kenan Thompson's line about the Epstein files had me dying 💀! Overall, it felt like a well-timed roast that brought some much-needed levity to the table 🍽️.

I'm glad Pete Davidson is back on SNL, but man... that Tom Homan sketch was a wild ride . The whole thing felt like it could've gone off the rails at any moment, which is kinda what makes it so hilarious. I do feel bad for Greg Bovino, though - his explanation just sounded super out of touch. And can we talk about how ridiculous Kenan Thompson's Epstein files comment was? Like, what even is that?

I love how Pete Davidson kept trying to impose order on the meeting, but it just kept getting more and more absurd . The "drop and give me 20" line had me dying 🤣. But seriously, I do think the sketch did a great job of highlighting some of the issues with ICE's leadership.

It's not every day you see a satirical take on a real-life crisis like that, so kudos to the SNL writers for tackling it. Overall, it was a solid episode, and I'm just glad Pete Davidson is back where he belongs - making us laugh 😂.

🤣 oh man this cold open was EPIC!!!

I think Pete Davidson nailed Tom Homan's awkwardness 😅 especially with that bald cap, I die 💇‍♂️. But seriously though, the entire thing felt so realistic... like you could just imagine these ICE agents being super clueless 🙄. And Kenan Thompson just kept it 100 with his Epstein files comment 🤯, lowkey made me laugh out loud 😂.

I also loved how the sketch started off kinda normal, but then just took a sharp turn into absurdville 🚀. It was like they took all these ridiculous ICE scenarios and just... ran with them 🏃‍♂️. And that final line about "try not to get filmed"... classic 😂.

The only thing I might be missing is some kind of visual representation... maybe a simple ASCII art diagram to break down the chaos 🤔:

```
+---------------+
| ICE Agents |
What do you guys think? Should I add some more 🤔
lololol omg did Pete Davidson even rehearse that skit he was so out of his element playing Tom Homan but that cold open tho 🤣 davidson nailed the cringiness it was like watching a train wreck you cant look away what was with all the nonsense about shooting an American citizen btw wasnt that just from the real news and not from the show?! 😂
omg u gotta see this cold open on SNL! Pete Davidson finally back & Tom Homan was literally cringin 😂🤣 he tried to make sense out of Greg Bovino's weird departure but it just got even more wild 1st "the president no likey that" lol then Thompson drops Epstein files as an example 🤦‍♂️ and Davidson is all sarcastic about it 💁‍♂️ what a mess! 😂
omg i feel like this cold open was so relatable lol remember that one time in our 6th grade history class when the teacher just lost it on us and started rambling about something random 🤣 and we're all just sitting there thinking "um what"?! same thing with tom homan's meeting, it was like he had no idea what he was doing 😂. and kenan thompson's line about epstein files was too funny lol. anyway, i'm kinda glad pete davidson is back on SNL, his humor is so much more on point than james austin johnson's impressions 🤪. also, can we talk about how ice agents need to get their act together? i mean, i've seen our school's discipline meeting go smoothly lol 😂
I love Pete Davidson back on "Saturday Night Live" ! 😂 It was so refreshing to see him take the stage after James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump impersonation. The Tom Homan sketch was just pure gold, with Kenan Thompson and Andrew Dismukes stealing the show with their hilarious improvisations . 🤣 I mean, who comes up with this stuff? The absurdity of the meeting was like a train wreck that you can't look away from – it's just so entertaining! 😂 And that ending line "try not to get filmed" is just perfect. It's like Homan knew he had lost control of the situation. I'm excited to see what other sketches they have up their sleeves for this season 👀
lol omg i cant even @pete davidson for taking on tom homan role again 🤣 that cold open was SO cringeworthy but in a good way? like james auston johnson's donnie trump impersonation is on point, but dude you're not even funny anymore 😂 kenan thompson and andrew dismukes are the real MVPs in this sketch though 👏 those Epstein files comment tho 🤣 and then davidson just drops the most iconic line "drop and give me 20" 🤯 i dont know what's more impressive, davidsons comedy skills or his ability to not get triggered by the absurdity of it all 😂
LOL @ Pete Davidson's attempt to keep Tom Homan in check was like watching a cat trying to herd cats 🐈😹. It was like he kept trying to fix the mess, but just ended up making it worse. I loved the Epstein files joke tho 😂, that was a nice touch. And can you imagine having to deal with agents saying ridiculous stuff during a meeting? Like, try not to get filmed is basically the only sane thing Tom Homan could say in that situation 🤣.
OMG 🤣 Pete Davidson totally won back my faith in SNL after that hilarious cold open! I mean, Tom Homan's character was literally cringeworthy 😂 but Kenan Thompson, Andrew Dismukes, and Johnson just brought the laughs with their silly impressions. That "Epstein files" joke tho 🤦‍♂️ was genius - it's like they knew exactly what would take down the meeting. And Davidson's reactions were on point too! I felt so bad for him, trying to keep Homan's antics in check but also getting dragged into all that craziness 😅. Can we get a repeat performance with this cast? 🎉
