"The Summit" sounds like a total recipe for disaster to me, having complete novices navigate a treacherous mountain with a helicopter following them? It's just begging for someone to get seriously hurt 
. And don't even get me started on the foodie competition - all those talented chefs and cooks being put through a rigorous test just to entertain us? Give me a break 
I must say, the concept of "The Summit" sounds particularly intriguing, highlighting the human spirit's capacity for resilience in the face of adversity 
Meanwhile, the return of "MasterChef: The Professionals" on BBC One will surely delight foodies and aficionados alike 
But what strikes me is the juxtaposition between these more intense shows like "999: What Happened Next" and lighter fare like "Trying" and "RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs The World", speaking to our diverse interests and desires for escapism and social connection.
i mean what even is the point of having a helicopter hovering above contestants on some wilderness survival show? and foodies on bbc one, seriously though who can't prepare for a baking competition?
