TV tonight: Lennox Lewis on the golden age of British boxing

πŸ₯ŠπŸ’ͺ that era was πŸ”₯ I mean who wouldn't wanna be part of a golden age with legends like Chris Eubank & Nigel Benn? 🀯 The rivalry between those two guys is still talked about today & it's crazy to think they were all just mates outside the ring πŸ˜‚ I can imagine how intense it must've been, all that trash talk & getting ready for a fight πŸ’ͺ🏽. And yeah, racism was definitely a thing back then πŸ€• but at least the guys could show each other love despite it all ❀️. Now they're just chillin' in the doco, sharing stories & memories... it's gonna be super interesting to see what they have to say 😎

OMG, can you even imagine being part of that iconic boxing era? 🀯 It's crazy to think about how much history was made in 1993 - I mean, half a billion viewers tuning in is mind-blowing! πŸ’₯ And the friendships forged in the ring? Iconic! 😊 Those guys knew how to bring the heat (literally, with Benn's detached retina πŸ€•), but it's awesome to see they've put their differences aside for this documentary. The camaraderie and rivalries are what made boxing so captivating back then. πŸ’ͺ I'm loving this nostalgic trip down memory lane - who else is excited for part 2 of the doc? 🎬 #GoldenAgeOfBoxing #BritishBoxingLegends #RivalriesAndFriendships

this is so cool 🀯 that these guys still talk about it like its yesterday... i mean, can u imagine bein in the ring with those legends? chris eubank was always my fave tho, love how he stood up 2 himself when it counted πŸ’ͺ and yeah, racism was a big issue back then, sad to hear that ppl were prejudiced against black boxers. but its great to see them all talkin now and reminiscing about the good times... i've seen that documentary, cant believe they're still so passionate about boxing even though they ain't fightin no more 😎

I mean... can you believe 50% of the global population watched that epic battle back in '93? 🀯 It's crazy thinking about what went down behind closed doors too, like the betting pool with Eubank and Benn - I'm talking Β£10,000 winner takes all! πŸ’Έ That's some serious banter. And you're right, racism was a major issue in boxing back then, it's heartbreaking to think about how much those guys had to deal with off the ring.

Lewis is totally right though, the camaraderie among fighters during that time was real - they were like an odd family or something πŸ€ͺ. And I love how he brought up the intense rivalry between Eubank and Benn, it's still talked about today. That 4-part doc sounds like a must-watch for any boxing fan.

You know what's wild though? The global reach of that fight is even more impressive considering the internet didn't even exist back then πŸ“Š. If we were to calculate the equivalent viewership today... let's just say it'd be astronomical! πŸš€

Did you know that Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn combined for over 1 million pay-per-view buys alone? πŸ“ˆ And Frank Bruno went on to become one of the highest-paid boxers of all time - talk about a turnaround after getting knocked out cold! πŸ˜‚

omg, can u believe its been like 30 yrs since that epic battle in 1993 lol 🀯 i mean lennox lewis is still spittin truth about the "golden age" of british boxing, and honestly, it sounds like a wild ride 🎒 those boxers were literally fighting for their lives, but they did it all w/ class & respect 4 each other. and u can feel the camaraderie between them, even after all these yrs, they're still talkin & laughin together 🀝 and yeah, racism was def a major issue back then, but its not like they didnt address it or nothin... its been an intersting journey 4 british boxing, from iconic champs like eubank & benn to the current crop of fighters πŸ₯ŠπŸ‘

The golden age of British boxing was definitely a wild ride 🀯... I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of that era? It's crazy to think about the attention span of 500 million people tuning in to watch four fighters go at it πŸ’₯. But what's even crazier is how those fighters had to deal with racism and prejudice behind closed doors πŸ€•. I feel bad for Nigel Benn and Frank Bruno, who faced so much hatred just because of their skin color πŸ˜”. It's good that Lennox Lewis can look back on those times as a time of camaraderie and friendship instead of just competition πŸ‘«... still though, it's wild to think about how the sport struggled with its image back then πŸ“Ί. The betting pool idea is actually pretty cool, though - who wouldn't want to guess what their friend's weight cut is going to be? πŸ€‘
