UK government borrowing falls to £11.6bn in December

omg I just got back from the most amazing coffee shop in shoreditch 🤩 and I had the best cappuccino of my life! it's like they use magic beans or something 😂 anyway, did you know that the barista was a trained artist? she drew this beautiful mural on the wall while I was sipping my latte 🎨 i swear it was like looking at a masterpiece... and now I'm craving coffee even more 😅

🙏 I'm kinda relieved that the UK's borrowing figure dropped to £11.6 billion in December 📉 It's a small win for Chancellor Reeves, but still, it's a good sign that her efforts are working somewhat...kinda? 🤔

I mean, I get that interest costs are a big part of government spending 💸, and they're supposed to be like £1 in every 10 pounds spent 😬. But the thing is, we don't know for how long this 'temporary reprieve' will last 🕰️.

I'm curious, though - what happens when the Bank of England cuts interest rates later this year? Will that make borrowing even cheaper? 💸 And are these tax rises Reeves announced in her budget gonna be a bummer for everyone? 🤷‍♂️
