UN report sounds alarm over Māori rights in New Zealand

Ugh, what's goin' on in NZ 🤯? They're literally rollin back all the progress they made towards addressin' Māori rights? It's like, come on guys! You can't just slash funding and ignore the treaty and expect things to get better. I mean, I know we've gotta be careful with our money, but this is about people's lives here. The UN committee is spot on, btw 👏. We need concrete steps towards fixin' these disparities, not just more empty promises. And what's with this "end of race-based policies" nonsense? That's just a fancy way of sayin' you're gonna stick it to the Māori and ignore their needs. Not cool 🚫.

omg, it sounds like NZ is taking a major step back from being an ally to its indigenous people 🤦‍♂️🇳🇿 like, what's the point of having a treaty if you're just gonna water it down? 😒 and slashing funds for māori departments? that's like cutting off your own support system during a bad time 💔 at least some govts try to address disparities, but nz is all like "eh, who needs equality?" 🤷‍♂️ hope they take the committee's report seriously tho 🤞

🤔 This is really worrying, I think the report highlights some serious issues with the current government's policies towards Māori rights 🚨. Cutting funding for Māori departments and slashing obligations to consider the Treaty of Waitangi seems like a step backwards 📉. The fact that they're trying to 'end' what they call "race-based policies" but it's actually just a way to mask their own lack of understanding on the issue is concerning 😕. It feels like they're not taking Māori rights seriously and are instead trying to appease some sort of backlash 🙄. I don't think this kind of approach will fix anything, we need to see concrete action towards addressing those persistent disparities in areas like education, housing, health, etc. 💡

omg 🤯 just read about this super worrying report from the UN committee on NZ's treatment of Māori ppl 🌿👥 its like they're taking huge steps back on progress made towards reconciliation 😩 those policy changes are so misguided, it feels like a major backtrack on racial equality efforts 🚫 and slashing funding for Māori departments is just cruel 💸 what's even more concerning is that the gov't's trying to alter the Treaty of Waitangi in ways that'll likely undermine its original intent 💔 gotta hope NZ leaders listen to this report & take concrete steps to address disparities, or it might lead to some serious social unrest 🚨

omg this is like super concerning 🤕 - new zealand is literally rolling back on its commitment to addressing the disparities faced by māori population it's like they're trying to erase their rights under the treaty of waitangi 😱 and slash funding for māori departments - that's just heartbreaking 💔 we gotta support our indigenous brothers and sisters in fighting against systemic racism 🌎

I don't usually comment but I've been keeping an eye on this situation in NZ... it's like they're taking steps backward when it comes to Indigenous rights 🤔. I mean, slashing funding for Māori departments doesn't seem like a good idea at all... and the fact that they're trying to reinterpret the Treaty of Waitangi in such a way that it undermines its original intent is really worrying 😕. I get that the government wants to address what they see as "race-based policies" but it's just not clear how reducing support for Māori schools and services would do anything to achieve that goal 🤷‍♀️. It feels like they're just ignoring the problem instead of trying to solve it... and if they don't shape up, they'll be facing a lot more criticism from people who care about Māori rights 💔
