I mean, who doesn't love a good game of "I'm gonna block China's AI chips and save the world"? 
Like, seriously though, what's next? Are we gonna start banning Chinese takeout too? 
But for real, this bill seems like a solid move. I get why senators are getting all bent out of shape about it - China does have some pretty sketchy stuff going on, and AI chips being used to supercharge the military doesn't exactly fill me with confidence

It's crazy how quickly the conversation around tech exports can go from "it's all good" to "we need stricter controls". I think it's just common sense to be careful with our trade deals, especially when it comes to stuff that could potentially give an edge to some big powers.
