Valheim is coming to Switch 2 this year

Bethesda's Viking Survival Game Valheim Set to Launch on Nintendo Switch 2 This Year

In a recent update that has left fans of the survival genre eagerly anticipating its arrival, it's been announced that Valheim will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 console later this year. The announcement was made during a third-party-focused Nintendo Direct, which also confirmed multiple Bethesda titles for release on the platform in 2026.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Valheim is an action-adventure survival game where players can team up with up to nine other Viking warriors online as they explore procedurally generated worlds inspired by Norse mythology. To survive and thrive, players must master the art of crafting, building shelters, and battling in punishing combat encounters.

While the Switch 2 version's visuals may not have been a major selling point, its inclusion of support for mouse controls and HD Rumble 2 on Nintendo's console is certainly an encouraging sign. The game has already made its mark on PC and Xbox, with plans to also release it on PS5 later this year.

Valheim's journey from Steam Early Access to full-fledged success has been nothing short of remarkable. The game's community-driven approach, coupled with its engaging gameplay mechanics, has cemented its place as one of the most beloved survival games out there. Fans are eagerly awaiting word on when they'll be able to get their hands on the Switch 2 version, and whether it will launch simultaneously with a full 1.0 release.

As of now, Valheim remains in its early access phase, but rest assured that Bethesda is committed to delivering an exceptional gaming experience. With multiple titles confirmed for Switch 2 in 2026, Nintendo fans are in for a treat, as some of the biggest names in the industry prepare to take up residence on the platform.

omg u guys cant wait 4 valheim to hit switch 2?? 🤩 i mean, its been out on pc and xbox already, but the mouse controls & hd rumble on the switch 2 is like a total game changer 🎮💻 idk if its gonna launch with a full 1.0 or just in early access tho... but bethesda knows what they're doin' & i trust them to make it worth our while 💯

omg can u believe valheim's coming to nintendo switch 2? 🤯 i mean, i've been playing it on pc and xbox since its early access phase and it's literally so addictive, but i never thought it'd make its way over to switch 🎮 i'm hyped they're adding mouse controls and hd rumble 2 support, that sounds like a game changer for me 😎 gotta stay tuned for when it launches this year, fingers crossed it'll come out smooth like butter 🤞

I'm super duper surprised they're bringing Valheim to the Nintendo Switch 2 🤯! I mean, who needs mouse controls and HD Rumble when you've got a good ol' gamepad? It's gonna be all about that portable gaming experience, right? And don't even get me started on how it's gonna affect the game's performance. I'm pretty sure the Switch 2 is gonna be slower than my grandma's internet connection 😂. But hey, who needs smooth gameplay when you can play with your friends online, right? Let's just hope they don't mess up the game too much 🤞

🤩 just what we needed another survival game to obsess over, i mean valheim is already a beast on pc and xbox, but who wouldn't want it on switch 2? the mouse control support and hd rumble 2 sounds like a game changer 🎮👍 i'm hyped for this release, fingers crossed they get it right and don't mess with the gameplay mechanics. can't wait to join my squad and start raiding those procedurally generated worlds with some nintendo flair 😄

the switch 2 version of valheim might actually be a good thing 🤔... think about it, most people play games on their tellys with controllers and valheim does have some cool features like mouse controls and hd rumble 2 so yeah maybe the lack of graphics power isn't as big of an issue for this game. plus we already know it's gonna be good from its pc/xbox success 🎮

omg i'm so stoked about valheim coming to the switch 2 🤩 like what's not to love? procedurally generated worlds, crafting, building shelters and battling in combat... it's like the ultimate survival game! 💪 i mean, i've played it on pc and xbox and it's already one of my fave games ever. i'm so down for this release later this year and can't wait to see how the switch 2 version looks and feels 🎮 i just hope they don't change too much from the original since that would kinda ruin the whole experience 😂

omg yeah finally 🤩 Valheim is coming to switch and i'm lowkey hyped lol mouse controls on switch 2 is a sick update btw i've been stuck playing it on PC for ages cant wait to explore those procedurally gen'd worlds with friends, gonna be lit when we all play together

Ugh, I'm so down for this... I mean, what's not to love? It's just another console getting hacked and overpriced with a "new" version that's probably just a minor update 🤦‍♂️. Switch 2 already has some sweet features like mouse controls and HD Rumble, but who knows if it'll make a difference in this game. Valheim is awesome and all, but I'm not holding my breath for the Switch 2 release... what's there to get excited about?

Omg I'm so hyped about Valheim coming to the Switch 2! 🤩 I mean, who wouldn't want to play a Viking survival game with friends online? 😂 The fact that they're adding mouse controls and HD Rumble 2 is gonna make it feel way more immersive. I've already spent hours playing on PC and Xbox, but I'm excited to experience the gameplay on my Switch 2 when it drops. 🎮 When do you think we'll see a full 1.0 release? And will they add any new features or content for us new players? 😁 I just want to explore those procedurally generated worlds and build some epic Viking shelters! 🏰💪

Umm... so they're saying Valheim is gonna come out on the new Switch 2 thingy this year? Like, what's the point of having it called 'Switch' if it's not a major upgrade or something? 🤔 I mean, I'm all for playing some Viking survival game and all, but don't get me wrong, I'm still waiting to see what they're really gonna do with that console. Is it just gonna be a watered-down version of the PC game or is there actually some real innovation happening? Can someone please provide some actual specs or details about this thing so we can make an informed decision? 📊
