Washington resident believed to be the first to die from rare strain of bird flu

just think about it 🤔... US is reporting a new bird flu strain and already there's a fatality 🚨... meanwhile H5N1 has been causing more problems globally, especially among farm workers, but our risk in the states stays low 🙏... can't help but wonder if we're just getting lucky or what's really going on behind the scenes 🤷‍♂️... also gotta ask, how does a human contract this from domestic poultry? seems like common sense would say it's hard to get sick from birds, but I guess stranger things have happened 😒... anyway, glad health officials are monitoring the situation and keeping us informed 👍

🤕 This is like super concerning to me lol. I mean i know it's low risk and all that, but still... a death from a bird flu? That's crazy 🦆. And how did it even happen in the first place? Like, how was this person exposed to wild birds or something?

And yeah, i can see why h5n5 is considered less virulent than h5n1. But at the same time, we don't know that for sure and we should still be careful 🤔. I mean, the CDC says all this but i think it's good that they're keeping an eye on things.

I'm just glad it was an older adult with health issues who got infected... if it was someone with a weakened immune system like me or something 😬, that would be a whole different story 🤯. But yeah, let's all just stay safe and wash our hands regularly 💦.
