Waterstones boss defends government's business rates shake-up

omg u gotta feel for watstones btw 🤔 daunt is literally riding on this business rates thing and i'm here for it lol 😂 but seriously tho i dont think he's fully thinking about how it'll hit smaller bookshops and indie places... like what if they cant afford to stock new titles or pay their staff? that's just devastating 💔
