... how can these floods happen in our modern times?

i mean, we have all this technology and know-how, but still, nature can be so cruel

... the photos of people clinging to rooftops or trees are just devastating

... it's not just about the loss of life, it's about the lives ruined, the homes destroyed, the livelihoods gone

...
and what really gets me is that there are still so many questions about preparedness and response

... why didn't these communities have better warning systems in place? Why didn't governments do more to mitigate the damage?

it's like they're just responding after the fact, instead of being proactive

anyway, i'm just sending love and support to all those affected by these floods

... we need to come together as a global community to help rebuild and recover
