What you should know from the week that was in Philly sports

A tumultuous week for Philly sports fans, with some shocking moves and surprising results. The Eagles kicked off the week by parting ways with longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, a decision that has left many scratching their heads given his impressive track record and history of developing top players like Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jason Peters.

Meanwhile, rumors surrounding A.J. Brown's future in Philadelphia continued to swirl, with insiders suggesting that the Eagles would only keep him on the roster if he was willing to accept a significant pay cut or restructure his contract. The news sent shockwaves through the fan base, who are now left wondering whether Brown is worth the investment.

In other sports news, the Sixers struggled to make waves at the NBA trade deadline, trading away fan favorite Jared McCain in exchange for some draft picks and moving on from veteran guard Eric Gordon in a salary dump move. The team's West Coast trip yielded mixed results, with two out of three wins not quite enough to quell the disappointment.

The Phillies are less than a week away from starting team activities, and with free agency looming, questions surround Jesús Luzardo's future with the team. Will he be re-signed or will he test the market? Meanwhile, top prospect Aidan Miller is making waves in the baseball world, but it seems unlikely that he'll make his major league debut this season.

A glimmer of hope for Flyers fans came when Matvei Michkov showed flashes of brilliance on the ice, a welcome respite from the team's struggles. As the Olympic break approaches, fans will be eager to see how the team comes out of the gate in the second half of the season. With pitchers and catchers set to arrive in Clearwater next week, the Phillies are one step closer to getting back on the field.

For now, it's clear that Philly sports fans have a lot to process ahead of the second half of the season. As always, stay tuned for updates from around the sports world.

Omg, Eagles fans r goin thru withdrawal 🤯! Parting ways with Jeff Stoutland is def not what anyone expected, especially given his track record 💔. And A.J. Brown's future in Philly is still super unclear 🔮. One thing's for sure, though - the Sixers' trade deadline moves were pretty underwhelming 😐. Jared McCain deserves better than being traded away like that! 🙄

On a more positive note, Phillies fans are getting hyped about Jesús Luzardo's future 🤔 and Aidan Miller's prospect status 🔥! Matvei Michkov's flashes of brilliance on the ice were awesome to see 💪. Can't wait for pitchers and catchers to arrive in Clearwater next week ⚾️! Second half of the season can't come soon enough 🕰️.

🤔 what's up with all these changes? one minute we're excited about our team and the next they're making big moves and it feels like everyone's on shaky ground 🏈💪 i mean don't get me wrong, new coaches and players can bring fresh energy but this feels like a lot to handle 😬 got my fingers crossed that our guys will find their rhythm in the second half 🤞

I'm so over all these coaching changes and contract drama 🤯. I mean, can't we just enjoy our sports teams without all the uncertainty? It's like they're trying to keep us on the edge of our seats, wondering what's next 🎥. And what's with A.J. Brown? Can't he just be happy with his team and play ball instead of causing drama? 😒 The 76ers' trade moves didn't sit well with me either, Jared McCain was a fan fave! I hope the Flyers can turn it around soon, Michkov seems like a bright spot ⚡️.

Ugh, Eagles just threw away all the progress they made last year by letting go of Stoutland 🤯. I mean, what's next? Cutting ties with Jalen Hurts too? 💔 The way they're handling A.J. Brown is just weird... like, pay cut or nothing? That's a pretty steep ask for a guy who's already got more mileage on him than most guys in his position 🤷‍♂️. And don't even get me started on the Sixers trading away Eric Gordon... what were they thinking there? 😒

🤔 omg i dont get why they would fire jeff stoutland he was such a huge part of their success and his guys are still killing it 🔥 like kelce lane johnson & peters r still allstars 🙌 and now aj brown is just getting benched because of money 💸 i feel bad for the fans who wanna see them succeed but its clear they're prioritizing $$ over talent 💸💔

man this past week was wild lol 1st off i gotta say jeff stoutland getting let go was like a punch to the gut but then again he did leave with that rich family or whatever so i guess its all good 🤷‍♂️

anyway aj brown situation tho is really confusing what's up with philly just not willing to give him the money 🤑 meanwhile jared mccain getting traded for some draft picks was like a cop-out im all for moving on from eric gordon too though his career has been pretty much over

oh and Jesús luzardo situation is gonna be super interesting free agency and all that jazz i'm low-key rooting for him to test the market tho

matvei michkov though what a game changer for flyers fans 😆 can't wait to see how they come out of the gate after the olympic break and pitchers/catchers getting ready to report to clearwater is like the start of something new

omg what is happening with the eagles 🤯 i mean jeff stoutland was like the ultimate coach dude and now he's just gone? i get it that they gotta make changes but come on 💔 a j brown situation feels super awkward too... like is he really worth all that drama? 🤑 and the sixers trade was pretty meh imo, trading away mccain just to get some picks 🤷‍♂️ at least the flyers have michkov tho 🎯 gotta stay hyped for aidan miller though, that kid's got talent 🔥

I'm so confused about A.J. Brown's situation 🤔. One minute he's our guy and the next he's gotta take a pay cut? Like, I get it, contracts are a thing, but can't we just keep him happy? 😒 The Eagles need all the help they can get after last season, so losing him would be a huge blow. And what about Jared McCain? Traded away for draft picks 🤷‍♂️...I guess that's part of building a team, but it still hurts to see fan faves go. The Sixers didn't make any big moves at the trade deadline either, so I'm kinda expecting them to tank next season 🏀😴. And don't even get me started on Luzardo and Miller...I mean, I love a good baseball debate, but these guys are like Wild Cards 🃏. The only good news is Michkov for the Flyers! He's got some serious skills 💥. Bring it on, second half of the season! 🔥

idk man... i was all in on Jeff Stoutland staying with the Eagles but then again he did get outplayed by the Giants' o-line coach last year lololol what's up with that? 🤷‍♂️ and can we pls talk about A.J. Brown's contract situation? if he wants to stay it should be a max deal not some cheap slap on the wrist... but at the same time, i'm all for keeping him and hoping he'll step up his game this season 🤑.
