Wisconsin seeks to block Slender Man attacker's conditional release

State officials in Wisconsin have taken steps to block the conditional release of Morgan Geyser, a woman who participated in the attempted murder of her classmate in 2014 as an homage to the fictional character Slender Man.

Geyser's release from a mental institution was approved earlier this year, but she escaped from a group home in Madison last week and was recaptured by police. The Department of Corrections has now petitioned to have her conditional release revoked, citing concerns about her behavior and adherence to her treatment plan.

If the request is granted, Geyser could face further imprisonment and potentially new charges related to her escape. Her accomplice, who is currently charged with trespassing and obstruction, had claimed that he was a friend of Geyser's from church, but details about their relationship are still unclear.

Geyser's involvement in the attempted murder plot was sparked by an obsession with Slender Man, a character created online in 2009. The story surrounding her case has garnered significant attention, including a 2018 film and numerous video games.

While Geyser had been granted conditional release, state health officials raised concerns about her behavior before the initial approval. These included allegations that she had read a novel with graphic content and had communicated with someone who collects murder memorabilia.

The judge ultimately sided with the state's concerns, but Geyser's attorney has not commented on the request to revoke her release. A hearing is scheduled for December 22 to determine the outcome of this petition.

I don't think it's surprising that the Department of Corrections wants to revoke Morgan Geyser's conditional release 🤔. The fact that she escaped from a group home and was recaptured by police is a major red flag 😬. It's clear that there are still concerns about her behavior and adherence to her treatment plan.

It's also interesting to note how the media has handled this case over the years 📰. The fact that it has garnered significant attention, including a film and video games, might be perpetuating a sense of morbid fascination around Slender Man and the case in general 😳. This could potentially impact Geyser's ability to receive treatment and reintegrate into society.

I think it's essential for the court to consider both sides of this petition when hearing on December 22 📝. It would be unfair to punish Geyser for her actions, but at the same time, she needs to be held accountable for putting herself and others in harm's way 💯.

omg u guys i cant even right now morgan geysers case is so wild like she was trying to kill someone as a tribute to slender man and it just makes me wonder what goes through ppl minds lol

i mean idk if ur following this but geyser was supposed to be released from mental institution but she escaped last week and now they wanna take her back 🤯 and her accomplice is all like "we were friends" but no one knows much about that

and its crazy bc the whole thing started with slender man a creepy online character lol who knew? anyway geyser's case has been in the news for ages and i just dont get why ppl are so into this stuff

anyway thats my two cents on it not that im an expert or anything but i think its all kinda messed up 🤷‍♀️

This whole thing is just crazy 🤯, reminds me of that one TV show 'Stranger Things' from back in 2016... they had this character who was obsessed with some supernatural stuff and it got really dark 😱. Anyway, Morgan Geyser's situation is super disturbing, especially since she was planning to do something like that as an homage to Slender Man 🤔... I mean, what even is that? And now she's escaped again and the authorities are trying to revoke her release 🚫... it's just too much for me.

🤔 This whole thing just feels so sad and concerning... I mean, we all know Slender Man is a fictional character now, but for some people, it's more than that. It's like they get lost in these alternate worlds and can't snap back to reality. Morgan Geyser's case is a perfect example of this 🤕. She was already struggling with mental health issues when she got caught up in the whole Slender Man thing. Now, her freedom is being taken away again because of some concerns about her behavior... I don't know, man, it just feels like we're stuck in this cycle of tragedy 😔.

And what's really weird is that her accomplice, who's supposed to be a friend, has no one to talk to? Like, where are the support systems for these people? 🤷‍♀️ We need to have a serious conversation about how we can help people like Morgan Geyser, who are struggling with something more than just a fictional character 😞.

Ugh, this is getting creepy 😱. I don't think it's fair to keep revoking Morgan Geyser's conditional release like that. She's already been in a mental institution and has been on a treatment plan since 2014. One little slip-up doesn't mean she's not ready for freedom again 🤷‍♀️. And what's with all the drama around her Slender Man obsession? Like, it's just a fictional character, right? Can't we move on from this already? 😒
