Woodlawn library mural contains Easter egg finds for kids

OMG, can you even believe this mural is in our very own Woodlawn Library?! 😍 I mean, Kari Blak's design is literally genius - it's like he took all these cool Easter eggs and just mashed them together into one masterpiece! And the symbols on the mural? Like, wow, they're so deep. I'm low-key obsessed with the butterfly representing immigration - I never thought about how that symbol could be used in a mural before.

And can we talk about Bessie Coleman for a sec?! 🙌 She's literally an icon and I'm so glad her name is being honored like this. It's amazing to see how Kari Blak wove her into the design, especially with that sweet flight gear outfit.

What really gets me though is how much thought and care went into creating this mural. Like, it was clearly a labor of love for Kari Blak - all those hours spent drawing and painting individual squares... ugh, my brain hurts just thinking about it! 💪 But in a good way, you know?

I'm seriously so grateful to have artists like Kari Blak around who bring joy and beauty into our communities. And can't wait to see what he comes up with next - that 'really busy year' is gonna be lit 🔥

I love how this local artist, Kari Blak 🎨, took on the project at Woodlawn Library and turned it into something truly special 🙌. I mean, who wouldn't want to discover Easter eggs in the mural, especially with Miel from Petalhead and Bessie Coleman in her iconic flight gear? It's awesome that he incorporated symbols representing climate change, environmentalism, and immigration - really making a point about the importance of being aware of our world 🌎. And I'm sure kids (and adults!) are loving the hidden gems like the space shuttle blasting off or the butterfly symbolizing freedom 🦋. What I love most is that this mural not only brings history and education to the community, but also showcases Blak's creativity and dedication to his craft 🙏.

I'm absolutely loving this new mural at the Bessie Coleman Branch Library in Woodlawn! I mean, can you think of a more perfect way to make learning fun? The Easter eggs scattered throughout are such a great touch - my kids would have a blast searching for them and learning about all the different themes that went into designing it. From the bee-inspired Miel character to the space shuttle blasting off for imagination, there's just so much going on here.

And I love how Kari Blak wove in nods to Woodlawn culture and history, like Bessie Coleman herself - what an amazing way to honor her legacy! The symbols and imagery are all so cleverly integrated too, it's like a whole new level of meaning and depth just waiting to be uncovered. I'm not surprised that the mural has been such a hit with the community - art has this way of bringing people together and making spaces feel truly alive.

For an artist who's clearly got a passion for creating meaningful spaces through his work, Kari Blak is definitely on my radar now! His portfolio is seriously impressive and I'd love to see more of what he's working on in the future.

🌎 I think its dope how Kari Blak merged different concepts into one mural, ya know? He took history, education, and even Easter eggs and wove them together in this sick 3D design. It's like he wanted to create a treasure hunt for the community to discover all these hidden gems 🧐. And I love that it represents themes like climate change, aviation, and immigration – its like he's trying to have a conversation about what matters most. The fact that he put his heart into this project and dedicated so much time to it is just inspiring 🤩. And can we talk about the Easter eggs for kids? Genius move! It's not every day you see an artist incorporate fun elements into their work like that 🎉. Anyway, its clear Kari Blak is a talented guy with a passion for creating meaningful spaces through art 💡.
