At least four people were injured in a shooting at an annual tree lighting ceremony in Concord, North Carolina, on Friday evening. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near Corbin Avenue and Union Street, where multiple police vehicles responded quickly.
The suspects involved in the shooting are reportedly known to each other. Police identified one of the shooters as 18-year-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic, who was shot during the incident. Bostic is listed in critical condition at a hospital and faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.
Another suspect, described only as a juvenile, was also shot and is currently recovering in hospital in critical condition. The juvenile will face similar charges to Bostic.
A third suspect, identified as a 17-year-old, has been charged with accessory after the fact and inciting a riot. Police said this individual was not injured during the shooting.
Emergency services were already present at the scene for the ceremony, and responded rapidly to the incident. Authorities are currently reviewing video footage from the event and interviewing witnesses as part of their investigation.
