A propos - 'Xi Jinping sees Donald Trump as a gift that keeps on giving', expert says

China's Xi Jinping views US President Donald Trump as an unpredictable and volatile 'gift that keeps on giving' to his country, according to a top expert.

The comments were made by Robert Manning, Distinguished Fellow at the Stimson Centre's Global Foresight Hub and China Programme. According to him, US policies have consistently driven China's economic growth since 2017. In particular, President Trump's 'America First' policy has created an environment that encourages China's investments in the United States.

Mr Manning says China views these moves as a long-term strategic investment, rather than a short-term trade deal. This is evident from the recent China-US trade talks which have focused on ensuring America's commitment to its own economic revival.

President Trump's repeated threats of tariffs and trade restrictions also create an environment that encourages Chinese companies to invest in other sectors such as biotechnology and renewable energy.

While some may view this as a threat, others see it as a strategic move by China to become less reliant on the US market.

🤔 think china is playing us like chess, you know? xi jinping sees us as unpredictable & volatile, but really he's just waiting for us to make a move so he can counter it. all these 'gifts' he's getting from trump are actually just china's way of building its own economy and reducing its reliance on us 🤑 plus, think about all those investments in biotech and renewables - that's not just business, that's strategy 😏 we're basically giving them the tools to become more self-sufficient. and who knows what else they'll do with that knowledge? 😉

idk about this one 🤔... china's been investing big time in us since 2017 and trump's 'america first' policy has definitely helped them out. but at the same time, i get why some ppl would see it as a threat 🤑 chinese companies are like "okay, we can invest in biotech and renewables instead of just focusing on us". it's all about diversifying their economy, you know? 💸 maybe china really does view trump as that 'gift that keeps on giving' 😅

idk about dis guy manning thinkin china views trump like a good gift lolol what kinda twisted logic is dat? china's been trying to break free from us for yrs and now trump's 'america first' policy is like the icing on the cake... meanwhile, chinese companies r just trying to make bank off our market

Honestly I think its pretty cool how China views US policies as like a never-ending investment opportunity lol 🤑. Like who else can say that their country's economic growth is basically fueled by a rival nation's "America First" policy? 😂 It makes sense, I guess, if you're China trying to diversify your economy and not be too dependent on the US market. And Trump's just making it easier for them with all these threats of tariffs 🤯. But at the same time, its still a bit concerning that China's investing so much in other countries, especially when they already have their own tech and innovation scene developing 🚀. Guess only time will tell if this strategy pays off or not 👀.

I think China's investing big time in the US is kinda cool 🤑. They're not just buying our companies, they're also setting up their own research labs and startups here. It's like they want to be self-sufficient and not rely on us for everything. That's a smart move, if you ask me. Trump's 'America First' policy might seem mean-spirited at first, but it's actually giving China an opportunity to diversify its investments and create its own growth engines. It's like they're playing a long game 🕵️‍♂️

I'm like "wait, what?!" 🤯 China's Xi Jinping thinks Trump is a gift?! That's soooo not true! 🙄 Trump's whole 'America First' thing has been super divisive and it's actually hurt the economy in the long run. I mean, have you seen the state of the US healthcare system lately? It's like they're intentionally trying to sabotage it! 😷 And those tariffs? Forget about it! They've just created a trade war that benefits nobody except maybe the fossil fuel industry 🚫💸.

But at the same time... 🤔 I guess you could say that Trump's policies have pushed China to invest more in the US, which is kinda cool for the country, right? 🌟 It's like, even if it's not all sunshine and rainbows, it's still progress of some kind. And who knows, maybe China's investments will lead to more innovation and job growth in biotech and renewable energy 🌱💡.

Ugh, my mind is all over the place now! 😂 Can't make up their minds, right? 🤷‍♀️

🤔 so china's basically using trump's crazy policies to boost their own econ growth 📈 like a weird symbiotic relationship 💉 where usa's chaos makes china rich 🤑 and now china's investing in usa biotech 🧬 and renewable energy ⚡️ meanwhile trump thinks he's all about tariffs 😤 but honestly china's just trying to level up its game 🎮 and get less dependent on us 🌎

I think its wild how US President Trump's moves are actually super beneficial for China 🤯💸 I mean, who would've thought that all those trade wars and tariffs would lead to Chinese companies investing in biotech and renewable energy? It just goes to show that sometimes, it takes a bit of uncertainty to push people out of their comfort zones and make them think outside the box 💡 The whole 'America First' policy thing might seem like a total disaster on paper, but I guess you could say its been a gift for China 🎁 And let's be real, if the US is all about reviving its economy, that just means more opportunities for China to grow too! 🌟 It's all about perspective, right?

😊 so china's like "hey us is all about itself now" 🤷‍♂️ and it's actually kinda good for them? i mean think about it, usa's been trying to protect its own economy and that's given china an opening to invest in other areas like biotech and renewable energy. it's not all bad, some ppl see this as china taking control of its own destiny 🌎 instead of being too dependent on the us market. plus, china's just saying what they think about trump's unpredictable nature 😂 so maybe there's some truth to that "gift that keeps on giving" thing? 💡

I mean, can you believe how cool it is when countries play this "trade war" game 🤯? Like, China's got Trump's back (I guess 😉) and they're investing all this money in the States because they think America's gonna be all like "we need your help to recover" 🤝. But on the other hand, I'm not sure if it's really a good thing for the US... I mean, tariffs and whatnot can hurt our economy too, right? 🤑 My friend's uncle is in biotech and he's been talking about how some of these investments are actually pretty cool (he's super into renewable energy 🌱). So yeah, I guess it's all just a big chess game between the two superpowers 🎲.

Trump is defo doing somethin right for china lol 🤣 he's all about protectin his own country's interests which is actually pretty cool... china's gettin invested in us and it's payin off for them, plus they're gettin ahead of their own tech game. i mean some ppl might see tariffs as a bad thing but maybe its just chinse bein smart and diversifyin their portfolio. xi jinping knows what he's doin 🤓

I gotta say, I'm a bit surprised by how China sees Trump's policies 🤔. On one hand, you'd think they'd be all like "oh no, we're getting burned by these tariffs" 😬, but instead they're viewing it as a long-term investment 📈. And I can see how that would be true - Trump's "America First" policy has definitely created some opportunities for China to diversify their investments abroad 💼.

But at the same time, you have to wonder if there's not a bit of schadenfreude going on here 😏? I mean, Trump's been all over the map with his policies, and it's no surprise that China would be looking for ways to invest in places where they think he might be less predictable 🤷‍♀️.

Anyway, I think it's pretty fascinating how two superpowers can view the same policy as either a threat or an opportunity 💡. It just goes to show how complex the global landscape is today 🌐!

I gotta say, China's been playing both sides for ages now 🤯. Trump's all about protectionism, but it's actually helped China expand its presence globally. They're not just buying our stuff, they're investing in biotech and renewables too 💰. I mean, who needs tariffs when you can create a whole new industry? 😂 China's playing the long game here, and we should be paying attention. It's all about adaptability now – if we wanna stay ahead, we gotta keep up with their moves 🔁.

I think its pretty mind blowin how china views trump as a good thing for them 🤯. like, who knew all that drama with tariffs and trade restrictions could actually be a good thing for their economy? 😂 seriously though, if china's seeing it as an investment opportunity rather than just a threat, then thats a whole different story. its def interesting to see how they're trying to level the playing field and less rely on us. i wonder what trump would think about that 🤔.

I think china is like a magnet for all this american innovation 🚀... they're literally investing big time in us tech companies and biotechs... i mean, trump's tariffs might be seen as a threat to some but i see it as them diversifying their portfolio 💸... the question is will we benefit from their investment or just get more cheap stuff from china? 🤔

I mean, who wouldn't want a "gift that keeps on giving"? 🤷‍♂️ Like, Trump's policies have actually helped China's economy, huh? That's not weird at all... I'm sure it has nothing to do with China's own economic ambitions or anything. And I love how they're just casually investing in biotech and renewable energy because, you know, the US is a super reliable market 🙄. It's not like there are any risks involved or anything. Sounds like a solid long-term strategy to me... 😒

omg u guys i just read this article about china's views on trump 🤯 he thinks we're like this crazy gift that keeps on giving them and idk how they can think that way lol considering all the tantrums trump has thrown at china like seriously who does that? 🤷‍♀️ but idk maybe they see it as a long-term strategic investment or something 🤔 like they're thinking "hey us is being all unpredictable and volatile so we'll just invest in our own economy and not rely on them anymore" 🤑 makes sense i guess. btw has anyone else noticed how some of our politicians are just so... entertaining? 😂

I'm seeing both sides of this thing and I gotta say... Trump's 'America First' policy might seem like a total mess to us, but for China, it's actually kinda genius 🤓. They're getting these investments into their own economy, which is defo a plus for them. And let's be real, those tariffs are just like a game of chicken - China's all like 'we'll invest elsewhere' and the US is all like 'but we're gonna tariff you!' 😂 It's a weird dance, but I guess it works for both sides? One thing for sure, though: China's not gonna be reliant on us forever 💸.
