ASUS changes mind, will continue selling the RTX 5070 Ti after all

ASUS U-Turns on GPU Discontinuation Plans

In a sudden reversal, ASUS has dropped its plan to phase out two popular graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. The company initially told YouTube channel Hardware Unboxed that these GPUs were going into "end-of-life status" due to supply shortages, but has now clarified that it will continue to sell them.

According to ASUS, the initial statement was based on incomplete information from a PR representative and should not have been taken at face value. While the company acknowledges that supply fluctuations, primarily caused by memory constraints, have impacted production output and stock levels, this does not mean the products are being discontinued.

In fact, ASUS has assured its partners and customers that it will continue to support both GPUs and is working to stabilize supply as conditions improve. Despite the initial scarcity of these models in some markets, there is no indication that they will be removed from sale altogether.

The news comes amidst a backdrop of rising costs for memory chips, which have pushed up prices across various PC components, including graphics cards. This has led to frustration among gamers who are struggling to purchase new hardware at affordable prices. Whether ASUS's revised stance on the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti will alleviate this pressure remains to be seen.

So I was expecting a GPU apocalypse when I heard about those cards being discontinued, but it looks like ASUS is having second thoughts ๐Ÿค”. The whole supply shortage thing was just a PR mess, right? I mean, come on, two different people giving different info? ๐Ÿ™„ And now they're just gonna keep selling 'em and hope the market stabilizes... that's just not how it works ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

I'm still skeptical about these GPUs, though. The prices are crazy high already, and if memory constraints keep causing supply issues, I don't think they'll ever really become affordable again ๐Ÿ’ธ. And what about all those other components that are also getting hit by the memory shortage? Like RAM and storage? ๐Ÿคฏ

Anyway, kudos to ASUS for owning up to their mistake and giving it another shot, but I'm not holding my breath for anything too dramatic changes ๐Ÿ™ƒ. The PC gaming world is already stressful enough without manufacturers playing games with our expectations ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ GPU market is still super competitive and supply constraints are causing a ton of problems for gamers... now it seems like we're getting a new batch of 5070 Ti & 5060 Ti, but will the prices actually go down? ๐Ÿค‘ probably not, since memory chip costs keep rising... it's just another example of how PC component prices can flip-flop all over the place ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

omg i was so hyped about those gpu discontinuation plans, thought i'd have to upgrade soon ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ but now it seems like ASUS is still gonna support them, that's a massive relief for gamers like me who can't afford new hardware right now ๐Ÿ’ธ. still, supply issues and memory chip costs are a big deal, so let's hope they can stabilize production and get prices under control ๐Ÿคž.

just saw this news about asus gpu plans ๐Ÿคฏ they were gonna stop making those popular cards but now they're like "wait, nope" lol remember when we thought that was the end of rtx 50xx series? anyway, prices have been crazy lately so fingers crossed this means more options for gamers soon ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I feel like ASUS is teaching us a lesson about not jumping to conclusions ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. We've all been there, right? We see something that seems bad news at first (in this case, GPU discontinuation plans), and our minds start racing with worst-case scenarios ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. But then we find out the real story, and it's like a breath of fresh air ๐Ÿ’จ.

It just goes to show that sometimes things aren't as black and white as they seem ๐Ÿค”. Even when things seem bleak, there's usually some nuance or hidden info that can change everything ๐Ÿ”. So let's take a deep breath, relax our thinking caps ๐Ÿง , and remember that we don't always get the full story right away ๐Ÿ’ก.

And on a related note... I think this news is also teaching us about the importance of staying calm under pressure ๐Ÿ˜Œ. When we're faced with uncertainty or frustration (like those gamers struggling to find affordable GPUs ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ), it's easy to get worked up and lose our cool. But ASUS's response shows that sometimes taking a step back, reassessing the situation, and seeking clarification can be super beneficial ๐Ÿ˜Š.

OMG, can u believe it? ASUS just U-Turns on GPU discontinuation plans ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ฅ I mean, I'm glad they're still gonna sell these GPUs but like, what's up with the initial statement tho? ๐Ÿ˜… Now gamers are all like "wait, do i still wanna buy these?" and stuff. I feel bad for them, prices have been crazy high lately ๐Ÿ’ธ. And yeah, memory chip costs are a big deal ๐Ÿคฏ. ASUS is just trying to keep things stable now ๐Ÿ™. Fingers crossed it'll help with the price issue soon ๐Ÿ‘

I guess you can say the universe has a way of balancing itself out... remember when I told y'all about how life is like a rollercoaster? Well, ASUS's change of heart just goes to show that even when things seem bleak, they can suddenly take a U-turn (no pun intended ๐Ÿ˜‚) and head back in a different direction. It's all about perspective, folks!

I'm actually kinda relieved when I heard that ASUS dropped its plan to stop selling those GPUs ๐Ÿ™Œ It's been super frustrating for gamers trying to get their hands on new hardware, especially with the memory chip prices rising left and right ๐Ÿ’ธ Those GPUs were already pretty pricey, so it's no wonder people are up in arms about the whole thing.

I think what ASUS did was kinda the right move, even if it was a bit of an own goal initially ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, they didn't exactly handle the situation well by announcing a discontinuation plan without thinking it through. But, kudos to them for owning up to the mistake and clarifying things.

Now that we know those GPUs are still in the running, fingers crossed that ASUS can get their act together and stabilize supply ๐Ÿคž That would be awesome news for gamers who just want to upgrade or buy a new rig without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ

I'm still hyped that ASUS is giving those GPUs a reprieve ๐Ÿ˜’ but let's be real, it's about time they came back online. I mean, who wants their fave GPU being "end-of-life" just because of some supplier drama? ๐Ÿคฏ It feels like every other week there's another chip shortage or supply chain hiccup causing price hikes and delayed shipments. As a gamer, it's like we're walking on eggshells trying to keep up with the latest tech without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ The fact that ASUS is revoking their discontinuation plans might help some of us get back into the gaming loop but it's not gonna magically solve the problem ๐Ÿค”

just think about it, gpu prices been goin crazy lately ๐Ÿค‘... and now asus say they wont stop production? thats good news for ppl who been strugglin to cop new hardware ๐Ÿคž maybe this mean prices wont keep risin indefinitely... also funny cuz asus was like "oh we made a mistake" ๐Ÿ˜‚ but at least its good they stick by there GPUs ๐Ÿ’ฏ

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda surprised about ASUS u-turning on GPU discontinuation plans, gotta say... they seemed pretty adamant about it in an interview not too long ago ๐Ÿ“บ. But I guess sometimes things get lost in translation and you gotta listen to the actual people making the decisions ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. The thing is though, with memory prices being so high these days, it's no wonder they were trying to phase out those GPUs in the first place ๐Ÿ’ธ... it just didn't seem like a feasible option for ASUS to keep on selling them at profit margins that are worth anything ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

But now that they've changed their tune and said they're gonna keep supporting both GPUs, I'm curious to see how this all shakes out ๐Ÿ”„. Are we gonna start seeing more of those models pop up in stock? And what about the memory prices? Will ASUS be able to negotiate better deals for themselves or will these prices just continue to rise? Only time will tell ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ...

omg just when you thought you were gonna have to pay an arm and a leg for those RTX 50 series GPUs asus comes through with the news they're not being phased out after all i was worried about having to spend that extra cash on a new GPU but now i can hold off a bit longer and see what happens with supply and prices ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ“ˆ

It looks like ASUS is trying to turn a U-turn on its GPU discontinuation plans ๐Ÿ”„, and it seems they're finally taking a step in the right direction! As the saying goes "You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for people to come to you. You have to go to them." The company's decision shows that they're willing to listen to their customers and partners, and that's a good thing! ๐Ÿ’ก

Ugh, forum updates always seem so rushed ๐Ÿคฏ... like they're trying to break some sort of record for most info dumped at once. Can't help but wonder if ASUS even had a team that was working on this stuff while the initial statement was still up ๐Ÿ˜’. Anyway, nice reversal - I guess it's good for customers who were getting their hopes down over those GPUs ๐Ÿ™. Still can't believe how crazy memory chip prices are... like, when will they stabilize? ๐Ÿคž

omg what a relief ๐Ÿ™Œ i was literally about to sell my 5070 ti for a fraction of its price ๐Ÿ˜ฉ but noooo asus is keeping it alive ๐ŸŽ‰ i know they said supply was the issue and all that, but honestly who cares about that? we're just trying to game here ๐Ÿคฃ and now i can finally get those framerates i need without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ

omg i just saw that news about ASUS and i'm so relieved!!! ๐Ÿ˜… those gpu models were super hard to get for months now and it was getting crazy lol like people even offered millions of dollars for them! ๐Ÿ’ธ but seriously, supply shortages are a huge issue right now and its awesome that ASUS is being honest about it. they cant just drop products from the market like thats how consumers would feel ๐Ÿคฏ my friend who's into gaming is super stoked about this news, he was literally about to buy that new gaming PC but couldn't get the gpu lol now hes gonna be able to get it and play all those games i've been hearing people complaining about for ages! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I don't get why they had to mess with people's minds like that, you know? They just go ahead and say one thing, and then change their mind when they realize it wasn't what they thought. Like my old friend's cousin's brother who was trying to buy a new laptop, and the company told him it wouldn't be available until next year... but now it is? Still not sure if I'd trust them at this point ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ธ

omg just saw this news and i'm so hyped that asus is still gonna support those rtx cards lol what a wild ride with gpu prices being insane rn but glad they're not axing these models yet ๐Ÿ’ฅ my friend was super upset when he couldn't get his hands on the 5060 ti 16gb he's been waiting for ages and i told him to keep calm and check online marketplaces, maybe someone is selling it for a reasonable price ๐Ÿ‘

I donโ€™t usually comment but Iโ€™m actually kinda relieved that ASUS is backing down on discontinuing those GPUs... I mean, can you imagine having to upgrade your rig mid-cycle like that? ๐Ÿคฏ Itโ€™s been tough enough for people to find new hardware without breaking the bank, so this decision might make things a bit more manageable for gamers. Of course, it's still a bummer that memory chip prices are causing all these issues... I mean, who wants to shell out extra cash just to get a new graphics card? ๐Ÿ’ธ
