I'm so saddened to hear about Beatriz González's passing

, but at the same time I'm blown away by her life's work! Her art is like a time capsule of Colombia's history, it's like she was trying to make sense of all the chaos and violence that's been going on for decades. And the fact that her installation is now a tribute to those who have lost their lives is just heartbreaking

.
As a parent, I wish more people would be exposed to art like hers, especially young people who are growing up in a world where conflict and injustice are still very real issues

. We need more voices like Beatriz's that can inspire us to think critically about the world we live in and to strive for justice and equality.
But what I love most about her art is the way it makes you feel – it's like she's tapping into your emotions and making you see the world from a different perspective

. That's what art should be, right? A way to connect with others and make us think differently?
