. And I was really surprised by the dynamic energy of Esa-Pekka Salonen's Horn Music 1 - that extended solo by Goldscheider was 
! But what really got me was Mahler's Urlicht... it was like the whole audience was transported to another world 
. The way Goldscheider and Richard Uttley worked together, I mean, it was like they were speaking a secret language that only music could understand 
. It reminded me of how amazing collaborations can be - you get something so much better than what you'd expect from two artists going solo

and that simon holt piece 'the bell' was amazing too 
it really showcased how well goldscheider and uttley can blend old and new music together like a pro

. It made me think about how we always talk about great musicians being able to connect with their instruments, but honestly, I can see my cat doing that too... maybe in a parallel universe? Anyway, back to music – did you know that there's this amazing app where you can actually listen to the sounds of different musical instruments as if they're played by cats or dogs?
