Ben Goldscheider/ Richard Uttley review – a horn, a piano … and a braying donkey

I loved how they combined old and new music in their performance 🎵! I mean, Schumann's pieces might seem unusual for horn, but Ben Goldscheider made it work so well 😊. And I was really surprised by the dynamic energy of Esa-Pekka Salonen's Horn Music 1 - that extended solo by Goldscheider was 🔥! But what really got me was Mahler's Urlicht... it was like the whole audience was transported to another world 🌌. The way Goldscheider and Richard Uttley worked together, I mean, it was like they were speaking a secret language that only music could understand 💬. It reminded me of how amazing collaborations can be - you get something so much better than what you'd expect from two artists going solo 😊

lol this horn player ben goldscheider is so talented 🤩🎻 he and pianist richard Uttley are like two peas in a pod, they're so in sync with each other's playing styles 💕 their performance was literally breathtaking, i mean who knew schumann's music could sound so beautiful on the horn? 🤔 and that simon holt piece 'the bell' was amazing too 😍 it really showcased how well goldscheider and uttley can blend old and new music together like a pro 💯

omg I'm literally still reeling from this concert 🤯! I loved how Ben Goldscheider and Richard Uttley just clicked as a duo, like they were meant to be playing together 💕. Their chemistry was palpable and it made the entire recital so much more enjoyable. That Mahler piece? 🔥 wow, Goldscheider's horn playing brought tears to my eyes! 😭 The way he conveyed emotion through his playing was just incredible. And I loved how they mixed old and new pieces - it kept the concert feeling fresh and exciting throughout 🎵👏

omg u guys i just saw this concert w/ ben goldscheider & richard uttley and it was LIFE.CHANGING 🤯!!! they blended old & new so seamlessly like, it felt like magic ✨ the way their instruments talked to each other was insane 💬 i loved how they did this weird but genius interpretation of schumann's 3 fantasiestücke 🎵 the bell piece by simon holt tho... genius 🔔 and omg mahler's urlicht 😍 goldscheider's horn playing is literally ethereal 🌙 can't stop thinking about it 🤯

🎵 I was totally entranced by Ben Goldscheider and Richard Uttley's concert yesterday! 🤩 The way they blended old and new pieces together was pure magic ✨. Schumann's Three Fantasiestücke Op 73 was a great choice for horn, and Goldscheider really showcased the instrument in all its glory 🎺. I loved how Simon Holt's The Bell and Oliver Leith's Eeyore added some lighter moments to the setlist, too 😂.

But what really stole the show for me was Mahler's Urlicht – it was like nothing I've ever heard before! Goldscheider's performance was so expressive and emotive, it brought tears to my eyes 😭. The way the two musicians worked together is a great reminder that collaboration can lead to something truly special 💕.

Have you guys had a chance to listen to this duo yet? 🤔

You know what's crazy? I just saw this video of a cat "playing" the piano and it's literally hilarious 😹! The way it paws at the keys is so similar to how humans play, but like, without any actual musical talent 🤣. It made me think about how we always talk about great musicians being able to connect with their instruments, but honestly, I can see my cat doing that too... maybe in a parallel universe? Anyway, back to music – did you know that there's this amazing app where you can actually listen to the sounds of different musical instruments as if they're played by cats or dogs? 🐈🐕 It's wild!
