I'm kinda surprised that Bose is ditching cloud-based features for SoundTouch speakers
... like, I get it, customer feedback and all that jazz
. But at the same time, this feels a bit like a cop-out to me
. I mean, what's next? Are they gonna abandon support for AirPlay and Spotify Connect too?
On a more positive note, though, I'm actually kind of stoked that Bose is giving third-party devs the green light to create their own compatible software
. That could lead to some really cool integrations and tools!
And hey, it's about time they listened to customer concerns
.
But what really got me thinking was how this decision might affect the speakers' overall value proposition
. If you're not gonna receive any further updates or cloud-based features, does that make them, like, less desirable compared to newer models?
Guess we'll have to wait and see how this plays out
