Crews extinguish apartment fire in Miami Beach; no injuries reported - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

A fire broke out in an apartment complex in Miami Beach on Thursday evening, causing a thick haze of smoke to fill the air. The blaze started around 6:45 p.m., prompting crews from the Miami Beach Fire Rescue to rush to the scene.

Once there, firefighters swiftly worked to put out the flames, and by all accounts, they were able to bring the fire under control relatively quickly. During their inspection, officials noticed that a pot had been left unattended on the stove in the kitchen - it's believed this may have been the source of the ignition.

Despite the urgency of the situation, there was no indication that anyone was present at the apartment when the fire began. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

The incident is now over, with crews having successfully contained and extinguished the flames.

πŸš’πŸ˜¬ just saw the news about the fire in Miami Beach and I'm so relieved that everyone got out safely πŸ™! You know, it's moments like these that make me think of movies like "The Burning" from 1981, you know the one where Drew Barrymore gets trapped in a burning house? 😱 anyway, gotta give credit to those firefighters who worked quickly and efficiently to put out the flames πŸ’ͺ🏽. And I mean, who hasn't had that moment where they just totally spaced out on something simple like leaving a pot unattended on the stove? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ at least no one was hurt, that's all that matters πŸ’•!

πŸŒ΄πŸš’ just heard about this crazy fire in Miami Beach... can't believe how close it was to disaster! left that pot unattended on the stove, who does that?! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ luckily no one was home at the time, but still, super scary situation. it's always those little things that can make all the difference in keeping us safe, you know? so glad the fire department showed up ASAP and did their thing... just a reminder to be careful with our appliances and stay vigilant! πŸ’‘πŸ”₯

OMG, can you even believe how lucky we are?! I mean, those firefighters are literally heroes! They showed up so fast and saved that apartment complex from going up in flames. It's crazy to think about what could've happened if someone was home 🀯.

And can we talk about that pot for a sec? I feel like it's just so careless to leave something unattended on the stove, especially when there are people around (even if they weren't there at the time). It's always better to be safe than sorry, you know?

Glad nobody got hurt and that the firefighters were able to get everything under control. That was a pretty intense situation πŸ˜….

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... how close did people live in those apartments? I mean, leaving a pot unattended on the stove can be super reckless. I've seen some pretty wild fires in LA, but Miami Beach is like totally not that common. Did they do the building inspection recently? Like, was it just a coincidence or was something missed? Also, what's up with the lack of injuries? Maybe it's a good thing no one was home, but still, it's a miracle nothing happened πŸ˜…

Ugh, it's crazy how easy it is to accidentally start a fire like that! I mean, who leaves a pot unattended on the stove? πŸ™„ It's just common sense, you know? But yeah, super lucky no one was home or hurt in this one. Glad the firefighters were able to respond quickly and get the fire under control before it got out of hand. It's always scary when there's a fire, but I guess that's why we have those quick responders. Should've been more careful with that pot, though... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

man thats crazy how fast those firefighters responded to the scene its like they got some kinda superpower or something . anyway gotta feel for those ppl who lost their apartment it can be super stressful to deal with a fire without even knowing if you're safe inside meanwhile theres just so many things we dont know about what caused this whole thing leaving a pot unattended on the stove is pretty basic tho like come on how hard is it to remember that some1 took care of stuff while you were out

I mean, what's crazy is how easily this could've been a disaster given the circumstances. I was watching it unfold live on my stream πŸ“Ί, and to see those firefighters jump into action like that, it was honestly awe-inspiring. But at the same time, it makes me think about all the times people leave things unattended in their kitchens - it's just so irresponsible. A pot left on the stove can be a recipe for disaster, and I'm not gonna lie, my heart sank when I saw that video of the flames spreading like crazy. Thankfully, everyone was safe, but it's still a big reminder to be more mindful about our daily habits. Can't stress enough how quickly things can go from bad to worse in situations like this πŸ’₯

😩 I'm still shook by fires like this in cities that are supposed to be super safe... Miami Beach is already a crazy place to live, you know? The smoke was thick enough to see from my window 🌫️. I keep thinking about all those people who have to deal with this kind of thing every day. Apartment fires can happen anywhere, but it's especially tragic when they're preventable, like in this case where a pot just got left unattended... πŸ”₯πŸ‘€

πŸš’πŸ˜¬ just had to process that crazy MIA beach fire 🀯, i'm so relieved nobody got hurt though πŸ™ it's crazy how quickly those firefighters acted, must've been super stressful for them too πŸ•°οΈ. anyway, glad everyone's safe now πŸ‘ the pot thing was probably preventable tho πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ just a heads up to all us miami beach folks to keep an eye on our kitchens while we're cooking πŸ”₯πŸ’‘

πŸš’πŸ˜” just thinking about those ppl who got evicted from their place in Miami Beach... it's not easy findin' a new spot, especially when you're tryna start fresh. 🀯 fires can happen anywhere, but it's always the little things like that pot left unattended that can lead to disaster 😬 hopefully the landlord is gonna check on those ppl and make sure they got a safe place to stay for now πŸ‘

man, can you imagine being in that moment where everything just goes up in flames...literally? it's like, one second you're cooking dinner, the next, your whole life is at risk 🀯. the thing is, we often get so caught up in our own little worlds, we forget about the things around us that could affect us. like, leaving a pot on the stove can be as simple as an oversight, but it's also a reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control.

it's crazy to think that just because no one was home, the damage wasn't zero. there are still people who had to deal with the aftermath - the firefighters, the neighbors...everyone involved is affected in some way πŸŒͺ️. anyway, glad nobody got hurt, and hope those apartment dwellers were able to bounce back from this incident πŸ’•

just got out of miami beach 🌴 and can still smell the haze from last nite's fire 😷. seriously though, how hard is it to leave a pot unattended on the stove?! i mean, come on! we're lucky no one was home when it started. don't get me wrong, our fire crew did their thing and saved the day πŸ™. but can't we just be more careful for once? πŸ˜”

Ugh, can't believe how outdated this forum's moderation system still is πŸ™„. Like, where's the live chat feature? I had to wait like 10 minutes for my post to be reviewed before it even went up... meanwhile, I'm scrolling through Twitter about a fire in Miami Beach and I see some actual updates that are more informative than what we're getting here πŸ’‘.

And can't we get some better image uploading options? I tried to share a pic of the smoke-filled apartment complex and the thumbnail just looks like a blurry mess πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. It's like they're not even trying anymore... anyway, back to that fire in Miami Beach - hope everyone stayed safe! πŸ‘

man thats so close to miami beach!! 🌴πŸ”₯ crazy how it started from just a pot left on stove πŸ˜‚ what if someone was home tho? wouldnt wanna be in that situation at all πŸ€• glad no one got hurt tho, firefighters did an amazing job getting there fast πŸ’ͺ now its back to normal i guess

πŸš’ just read about the fire in Miami Beach... like 5-6 fires happen in major cities every single day 🀯 no one died, so that's good, I guess 😊 what I find crazy is how common it is for fires to start from things like unattended pots on the stove. 🍲πŸ”₯ it's like, people need to be more careful with their stuff and keep an eye out for hazards... 1 in 5 house fires in the US are caused by cooking equipment 😳 also, 9/10 times it's preventable, right? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

stats:
- Every year, over 360,000 home fires occur in the US alone πŸš’
- Cooking equipment is responsible for 49% of all residential fire deaths 🍲😱
- In 2022, Miami Beach reported an average of 25 fires per month πŸ“Š

OMG, THATS SO RELIEVING!!! i mean, can u imagine walking into ur own home and seeing FIRE EVERYWHERE?!?! thank goodness those firefighters arrived ASAP! leaving a pot on the stove is just so careless and stupid... like, how hard is it to keep an eye on something that's hot?!?!

anywayz, glad no one was hurt in this incident! i hope the ppl who lived there are doin alright 🀞. also, kudos to those firefighters for gettin that fire under control so fast! they're literally heroes πŸ™Œ. just a big ol' mess now tho, with all that smoke fillin the air... hope it doesn't affect ur plans or anything πŸ˜”.

ugh I cant believe people leave their stovetops unattended!! πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ its like, super easy to prevent fires from starting in the first place... i remember when im a kid my mom always say dont leave stove on while you're out of the room lol but seriously, ppl need to be more responsible and look out for each other, especially when it comes to fire safety πŸš’πŸ’¦

Man... another fire in an apartment complex πŸ€•. I'm just glad it wasn't worse, you know? The firefighters did a great job getting there quickly and putting out the flames before things got out of hand. It's always a good reminder to be careful with those stovetops, though - a left-on stove can ignite a blaze in no time πŸ”₯.

But, on a more serious note, I do think it's crazy how often these kinds of fires happen. It's like, we know better than to leave things unattended, but sometimes it still happens... and it's just really scary for everyone around.

I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and say that the firefighters were the only ones responsible for stopping this fire - I guess it was a combination of good luck and caution. Still, can't we all just take a minute to think about how our actions (or lack thereof) might affect those around us? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
