How many spiders and pseudoscorpions does it take to make one of the world's greatest taxonomists?

just heard about this Aussie taxonomist who's left a legacy of over 1k species described 🐜💡 mind blown! did u know that arachnids can run faster in reverse? 🤯 anyway, just wanna share some stats: mark harvey has been working on taxonomy for like 48 years 🕰️ and he's still got 18 species to go before hitting the 1k mark 🎉 what's even more cool is that he's still actively working despite "retiring" earlier this year 💪 i mean, what other person can say they've got 45 species named after them? 🤓 on a related note, did u know that arachnids have been around for like 450 MILLION YEARS? 🌎 anyway, just wanna give a shoutout to mark harvey for his dedication to science & conservation 🙏

idk how people can get so passionate about tiny creatures 🐜 but hey mark harvey's dedication to naming all those arachnids is kinda inspiring? like he's literally changing our understanding of the natural world and it's crazy that his work will help conservation efforts 🌿💚 i'm curious though, do we really need 1000+ species described? feel like we should be focusing on bigger picture issues like climate change & habitat loss 🌪️ instead of just naming more arachnids 🤷‍♂️

man this guy mark harvey is literally a legend 🙌! 1k+ species described? that's insane! his love for arachnids is so inspiring, and it's amazing how much passion he still has at 75 🤯. i mean, 45 species named after him alone is crazy talk! what's even crazier is that he's still working away, leaving a legacy that'll help conserve these tiny creatures. let's hope he reaches that thousand mark before he hangs up his taxonomy hat 👋

🐱💡 I'm just wondering, how does it feel to spend most of your life studying something that's so tiny? Like, what drives someone to care so much about pseudoscorpions and stuff? Did you always know you'd want to be a taxonomist or was it kinda like... a thing that happened? 😊
