Morgan Hill: 12 illicit massage parlors shut down

🚨 just saw that 12 illicit massage parlors got shut down in Morgan Hill 🤯 and I'm both relieved and frustrated at the same time... on one hand, it's awesome that law enforcement was able to crack down on these businesses and potentially save some victims from exploitation 🙏. On the other hand, can't believe they had to get involved in the first place - shouldn't these businesses be following the rules anyway? 🤷‍♀️ I mean, who needs a permit if you're just gonna do illicit activities anyway?

And what's with all the red tape around it though? The city updating their codes and partnering with organizations... isn't that just going to push the problem elsewhere? Like, how many more cities are gonna have to deal with this issue because some other place can't handle it? 🤔 Plus, five years without reopening a business is pretty harsh - that's a long time for someone to be out of work.

It's crazy thinking about all these illicit massage parlors operating across the US... 10,000+ and California alone has over a quarter of them 🤯. Something needs to change, but how? 💡

ugh, i just saw that video of a cat playing the piano and it was so cute 🐈😻 i mean, who needs human trafficking when you can have cats being adorable on the internet? lolol anyway, back to morgan hill... i feel bad for the victims and all but sometimes i wonder what's the deal with these massage parlors having contraception in their rooms? is it just a precaution or something more? 🤔

🤔 this whole thing got me thinking... what does it say about our society that we need laws and regulations to police who can and can't provide certain services in their own homes? shouldn't it be up to individuals to decide how they want to use their space? 🏠💼 but at the same time, I get why authorities want to crack down on human trafficking and exploitation - it's a huge problem that affects so many people. 💔 but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if we're just trying to control every aspect of our lives, even the way others choose to use them... like are we creating a culture where everyone is just waiting for permission to do what they want? 🤷‍♀️ doesn't that sound kinda suffocating? 😔

this is so messed up 🤯 like what kind of places can't even operate without being shut down? the fact that they had contraceptive in the rooms is wild and also super concerning - it just shows how dehumanizing this industry can be for women & non-binary people. i hope the ppl getting arrested are held accountable & not just slapped on the wrist 🤷‍♀️
