ONLY ON 13: Man shares survival story following partial parking garage collapse

A Houston man narrowly escaped death when a parking garage partially collapsed beneath his car. Weeks later, Jose Cruz is still trying to come to terms with the traumatic event that left him shaken and without access to his vehicle.

On January 24th, Cruz was working for the security company overseeing the vacant property on Briar Hollow Lane when disaster struck. As he parked his car in the designated area, the ground gave way beneath him, causing a pancake effect that sent debris crashing down around him. Cruz described the scene as "surreal" and said all he could think was, "What if my car comes loose and keeps falling down? Where will it fall?"

Miraculously, Cruz escaped through his car window and made it out alive, but not without sustaining a fractured right foot during his ordeal. He was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

However, Cruz's relief at having survived the disaster is short-lived, as he soon discovered that his car remains trapped beneath the rubble, leaving him unable to access it. The property owners, Dhanani Private Equity Group, have yet to reach out to check on Cruz's well-being or offer assistance with retrieving his vehicle.

Cruz expressed frustration and disappointment at the lack of concern shown by the property owners, saying he feels like they don't care about his situation. He fears that the financial burden of medical bills will be too much for him to bear alone, having worked for 18 years without any issues prior to the incident.

As Cruz struggles to come to terms with what happened and find a way to move forward, one thing is certain: he has faced something no one wants to experience – the terrifying reality of being trapped in a collapsed parking garage.

😱 I feel so bad for Jose, still trying to process the trauma he went through, and now his car is stuck under that pile of rubble 🀯. It's just not right that the property owners haven't even reached out to check on him yet πŸ˜”. Eighteen years of working without any issues before this happens, and now he's struggling to cope with the medical bills and no way to get back to his daily life πŸ“Š. I hope someone from Dhanani Private Equity Group gets in touch with him soon and helps him sort out this mess πŸ’Ό.

Ugh πŸ€• my heart goes out to that dude Jose Cruz! I mean, can you even imagine having your car crushed beneath the rubble and not knowing if it's even safe for you to get in? 😱 It's like, one minute he's just doing his job, next minute he's fighting for his life. And now he's stuck with a broken foot and no way to access his car? That's just heartbreaking πŸ€— The fact that the property owners are being so neglectful is just icing on the cake. I mean, what kind of company doesn't check in on their employees after something like this happens? πŸ€‘ It's gotta be really tough for him right now, trying to deal with all these emotional and practical challenges at once. Sending him lots of positive vibes 🌈 and hoping he gets his car fixed ASAP! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, this poor guy πŸ€• is still dealing with the aftermath of that horrific accident 😱 and now he's stuck with a car that's literally buried under rubble πŸ’Έ? And the worst part is, the property owners are MIA πŸ™„ - no word on his well-being or any assistance for getting his car out. I mean, 18 years of work and this is how he's repaid? It's just not right 😑. The panic and fear must still be etched in his mind after that terrifying experience πŸ•°οΈ. Hope he gets the help he needs and soon πŸ’ͺ.

OMG, can you even imagine being trapped in a collapsed parking garage?! 🀯😱 I'm like super shaken just reading about it and Jose Cruz's situation is so not cool... πŸ€• He's already dealing with a fractured foot and trauma from the incident, but now he's stuck without his car? πŸš—πŸ’” The lack of concern from the property owners is totally unacceptable... I mean, shouldn't they be checking in on people who were affected by their negligence?! 😠 It's like, come on guys, show some humanity! 🀝 And to make matters worse, Cruz has to deal with medical bills and financial struggles alone? πŸ’Έ That's just not right. We need to get behind this guy and help him out... anyone can offer support or donate to his cause?! 🌟 #JusticeForJoseCruz #ParkingGarageCollapse #BeKindToOthers

😱 I mean can you even imagine being in that situation? It's like something straight out of a movie, right? I'm just glad Jose Cruz made it out alive and all, but what really gets me is that he's still stuck without access to his car and the property owners are MIA. Like, how hard would it be to send someone over to check on him or offer some help? It's not like you'd expect anyone to be happy about a guy being trapped under their own building πŸ˜’. I'm sending all my positive vibes to Cruz, though - he deserves better than that.

Ugh 😱 this is so messed up! I mean, can you even imagine being stuck under all that rubble for who knows how long?! 🀯 And then to find out your car is just sitting there, inaccessible... it's like, what's the point of even having a company looking after these things?! πŸš—πŸ˜‘ The fact that they're not even checking in on you, Jose, is just unbelievable. You're already dealing with injuries and trauma, and now you've got this huge financial burden hanging over your head? It's just not right. 😀

I feel so bad for this guy πŸ€•. I mean, escaping with his life is insane luck. But then to have his car just sitting there, unattended and stuck, it's just not right 😑. The property owners should be checking in on him ASAP, at least offering some assistance. This guy's been through enough trauma without having to deal with the stress of trying to get his car out 🚧. And let's not forget about the medical bills piling up... it's a nightmare scenario for anyone, but especially after 18 years of working hard πŸ’Έ.

I don't get why this guy can't just call the police or a lawyer or something... πŸ€” I mean, it's not like he's just gonna sit there and wait for someone to magically fix his car πŸ˜‚. And yeah, property owners should totally be checking in on him, that's basic human decency πŸ’―. But at the same time, can you blame them for not wanting to get involved in a potentially expensive mess? πŸ€‘ I mean, if they were gonna pay for it, why not just pay for his medical bills too? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ This whole thing is super messed up... 🚧

πŸ€” This is crazy! I mean, can you even imagine being trapped under all that rubble? 🀯 And what's even more messed up is that the property owners don't seem to care about Jose's well-being or helping him get his car back. That's just not right πŸ™„. I feel for the guy, he's already got a broken foot and PTSD from the whole ordeal... the last thing he needs is financial stress on top of it all πŸ’Έ. How are people supposed to recover when the people in charge don't even check in on them? πŸ˜’

Ugh πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ this is just insane! I mean, how do you not even bother to check on someone who's lucky enough to survive such a traumatic event? πŸ€” The property owners are totally clueless and it's only gonna make things worse for Cruz financially. He's gotta shell out medical bills without any help from the people he's supposed to be relying on...it's just not right πŸ˜’.

Ugh, can't believe this dude's stuck with a busted foot and his car's still underground πŸ€―πŸš—. Like, property owners gotta reach out ASAP and show some compassion, you feel? 18 years without any issues and now he's left high and dry πŸ˜’. Medical bills piling up and no help in sight...it's just not right πŸ’ΈπŸ˜‘. What's the protocol here? Does the company own a backup plan for situations like this or is it just gonna leave Cruz to rot? πŸ€”

can u believe this guy's car got crushed beneath the rubble... literally! πŸ€―πŸ˜‚ and now he's stuck with medical bills and a broken foot? 😬 that's like getting a parking ticket AND a free foot massage at the same time... not. πŸš—πŸ’Έ on the bright side, I guess it's one way to get out of paying car insurance for a while! πŸ˜‰

Ugh, great, just what I needed - a reminder that even when you're not at your desk, work can still find you πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Poor dude's got enough on his plate with a broken foot and the stress of dealing with some clueless company owners who don't seem to care about their poor security guard πŸ™„. I mean, come on Dhanani Private Equity Group, that's just inconsiderate - especially when you're already traumatized πŸ’”. Anyways, hope Cruz gets his car fixed and doesn't end up losing it all because of this πŸ€‘.

Ugh, I'm so annoyed that the property owners aren't stepping up their game πŸ™„. Like, come on, Cruz is literally shaken from his near-death experience and you guys are just ignoring him? It's not like he's asking for much, just some help getting his car out from under the rubble... or a decent apology. But at the same time, I don't blame him one bit for being frustrated πŸ˜’. 18 years of good service is not something to be taken lightly, and now he's got this huge medical bill looming over him πŸ€•. On the other hand, can we talk about how ridiculous it is that Cruz was parked in a vacant area in the first place? Like, shouldn't there have been some kind of warning sign or security measures in place? πŸ€” It's all just too much to handle, you know?

man this is so crazy... i feel for cruz, 18 yrs of work and now he's stuck w/ no car and a broken foot πŸ€• it's not just physical injuries, but also emotional trauma from the whole thing. property owners should at least check in on him or try to help him out, you'd think that's the least they could do πŸ™„ but i guess when money's involved, priorities change, right? anyway, hope cruz gets his car out soon and recovers from his injuries πŸ’ͺ

omg this is insane! i mean, can you even imagine being stuck under your own car like that?! 🀯😱 the fact that the property owners are just ignoring him like he's not even human is straight up messed up 😑. dude needs help ASAP and some serious support from those people. 18 years of good service and this is how they repay him? it's just not right πŸ’” and now he's got a broken foot to deal with on top of all that... poor guy πŸ€•

Ugh, this is just another example of how broken our online forums can be πŸ€―πŸ’” I mean, have you seen the comments section on that news article about Jose Cruz? It's like they're all just mindless drones spewing out their opinions without even stopping to think about the poor guy who's going through a traumatic ordeal. And don't even get me started on how the property owners are completely MIA πŸ™„πŸ’Έ I mean, come on guys, show some compassion! The fact that Cruz is still stuck with his car and can't access it is just heartbreaking πŸ˜”πŸš— Can we please focus on actual human stories like this instead of just posting random memes and garbage?

OMG u can't even imagine how terrifyin that must be for him 🀯! like 18 yrs of good service & this is what happens? πŸ™„ property owners are literally shook πŸ’Έ, but Cruz needs help ASAP! medical bills r gonna be a nightmare πŸŽ‰ cant believe they dont care about his well being πŸ˜” hope he gets the support he needs & recovers from that crazy foot injury πŸ‘£

man that's like something out of a movie 🀯... i feel so bad for jose cruz tho πŸ€• his situation is wild and it's unacceptable that the property owners aren't doing anything to help him out πŸ˜’ especially after he just narrowly escaped death. 18 years on the job without any issues and then this happens. it's like they're just gonna leave him high and dry πŸ’Έ. i hope cruz gets some help from the authorities or a lawyer or something to get his car fixed and deal with these property owners. it's just not right πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ
