BBC Sports Personality of the Year to be held on 18 December
The BBC has announced that its annual Sports Personality of the Year ceremony will take place at MediaCityUK in Salford, Manchester, on Thursday, 18 December. The event, which celebrates an incredible 12 months of sporting drama and triumph, will feature a host of top athletes, teams, and coaches competing for seven prestigious awards.
The main prize, BBC Sports Personality of the Year, will once again be decided by public vote on the night of the show, alongside the Team of the Year award. The Team of the Year category is new to this year's ceremony, with a special online voting process in place for fans to have their say before the live event.
Previous winners, including Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson and BBC Sports Personality Team of the Year-winning Wigan, will also be announced during the show.
