Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Queen of Chess’ on Netflix, a not-quite-deep-enough dive into chess champ Judit Polgar’s achievements

🤔 I gotta say, I was really looking forward to this docu-series and it's just so... surface level 📺. Like, where's the depth on Judit Polgar's journey? What about her struggles with sexism in the male-dominated world of chess? And don't even get me started on her dad, Laszlo - I wanted more context on their relationship 🤝. The film just glosses over all these interesting topics and it's a shame because Judit's story is so much more than just a rivalry with Garry Kasparov 💡. It feels like they're missing the bigger picture and that's what makes me kinda disappointed 😐. Still, I do think Polgar comes across as super inspiring and humble 👏, but if you want to really dive into chess culture, there are other docs out there that might be more up your alley 📚.

I feel kinda meh about this docu on Judit Polgar 🤔. I mean, she's like a total rockstar in chess and all, but I was expecting way more depth from it 📚. They barely even touch on the whole sexism thing 🙄, which is like, such a huge part of her story. And what's up with only showin' one side of her dad's character? Laszlo sounds like he had some major influence on Judit's life, but his role is just kinda glossed over 👎.

I do love that they're showin' Polgar as this super humble and inspiring woman 🙌, 'cause that's def not always what you'd expect from a female chess player 💁‍♀️. But, at the same time, I wish they would've dug deeper into all the complexities of her life and career 🤔. It feels like there's more to it than just her bein' an amazing chess player 🎮.

Anyway, if you're a total chess nerd like me, you might enjoy this docu 😊. But if you're lookin' for somethin' that'll really make you think and learn something new, maybe keep lookin' 🤷‍♀️.
