And let's not forget, it would just benefit a select few who already own their homes outright or have been lucky enough to refinance during the pandemic. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are struggling to get into the market due to out-of-control prices and rates.

I also think it's interesting that this idea bears some resemblance to policies from FDR's era... but if we're being honest, that's not exactly a model for success .
