Victory Brewing is making a beer for America's 250th birthday

Victory Brewing toasts America's 250th birthday with limited-edition ale, Philly First. The special brew is the result of a collaboration between Philadelphia-based brewery Victory and Visit Philadelphia, marking the nation's milestone birthday.

Philly First beer boasts an ABV of 4.8% and features crisp, easy-drinking characteristics alongside light hops and hints of tropical fruit. The 16-ounce cans will be available at local distributors and beer boutiques in addition to regional bars starting two weeks after its debut at Victory taprooms on February 15.

Victory Brewing's Kelly Irvine praised the power of beer as a unifying force, particularly in cities like Philadelphia known for their rich traditions and celebrations. The company's Philly First collaboration aims to do just that – to celebrate all that makes Philly special.

The beer's can art pays homage to the city's history and innovations. Illustrations on the label include Benjamin Franklin's first public lending library, the coiled slinky from Gimbels store shelves, and other nods to Philly's 'firsts.'

As Victory Brewing celebrates its own 25th anniversary, the release of Philly First marks a significant milestone in the company's journey. Founded by Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet in 1996, Victory has since expanded with taprooms in Logan Square, Parkesburg, and Kennett Square.

While no official word has been given on how long Philly First will be available, fans of the brewery are excited to get their hands on a piece of American history.

I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW BEER!!! 🍺 IT'S LIKE A TASTE OF HISTORY IN A CAN! THE FACT THAT VICTORY BREWING AND VISIT PHILADELPHIA TEAMED UP TO CREATE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR AMERICA'S 250TH BIRTHDAY IS JUST AMAZING. I MEAN, WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO DRINK A BEER THAT FEATURES CRISP, EASY-DRINKING CHARACTERISTICS AND LIGHT HOPS? AND THE CAN ART?! IT'S LIKE A TIME CAPSULE OF PHILLY'S MOST ICONIC MOMENTS! BENJAMIN FRANKLIN'S FIRST PUBLIC LENDING LIBRARY, THE COILED SLINKY... I'M DYING OVER HERE!!! 🀯

I got this beer thingy for my brother's birthday party last year and it was literally just okay. I mean, I liked it but nothing special. Now they're making some limited edition ale for America's 250th birthday and it sounds like more of the same to me πŸ€”. I heard it's got tropical fruit flavors which is cool, I guess. The cans have some cool history stuff on them too, but honestly, who cares? It's just a beer. And at $10 a can, it's gonna be a real splurge for most people. I'm sure the hipsters in Philly will love it though 😏.

Yooo πŸ€³β€β™‚οΈ, I just heard that Victory Brewing is dropping a limited-edition ale to celebrate America's 250th birthday and trust me, it sounds like a real game-changer πŸ’₯. The fact that they teamed up with Visit Philadelphia makes total sense – Philly's got so much history and culture, you know? πŸŽ‰

But what I love about this collab is the attention to detail πŸ€“. From the ABV to the tropical fruit notes, it sounds like a beer that's all about bringing people together (which, let's be real, is what beer is all about, right?) πŸ‘«. And the can art? πŸ”₯ I mean, who doesn't love a good nod to Benjamin Franklin and Gimbels? πŸ˜‚ It's gonna be a blast from the past!

Of course, 25 years in the game is no joke 🀯. Victory Brewing has come a long way since Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet first started brewing up magic back in '96. I'm hyped to see what's next for this iconic brewery πŸŽ‰!

πŸŽ‰ I'm so down for this limited-edition ale! I mean, can you think of a better way to celebrate America's 250th birthday than with a beer that reps the city's awesome history? 🍺 The label art is literally so cool - I love how it showcases all these 'firsts' that Philly has to offer. Like, who knew Ben Franklin had a public lending library?! πŸ’‘ It's amazing to see Victory Brewing putting their own spin on this milestone birthday. As a parent, I'm thinking of taking my kiddo's to the taprooms soon - they'll love trying new beers and learning about the city's rich history together! πŸ‘ͺ

OMG 🀩 I'm so hyped for this collab!!! Philadelphia is like, my fave city ever! The beer itself sounds amazing btw 4.8% ABV, light hops and tropical fruit? Yessssss! πŸΊπŸ‘Œ And that can art tho, it's like, totally paying homage to Philly's history and innovations, I'm low-key geeking out over the Gimbels store slinky 🀣 Benjamin Franklin's public lending library too, so cool! Victory Brewing is literally the best, I love how they're celebrating Philly's specialness. Their anniversary collab with Visit Philadelphia is gonna be SO lit! πŸ˜† I need to get my hands on those 16-oz cans ASAP!

I think its awesome that Victory Brewing is collaborating with Visit Philadelphia to create this limited-edition ale for America's 250th birthday πŸŽ‰. Its amazing to see breweries like Victory Brewing using beer as a way to bring people together and celebrate the cities we love 🍺. And I gotta say, the can art on Philly First is super cool - its like stepping back in time with all those nods to Phili's history πŸ“š. Cant wait for this beer to hit the shelves! 🀞

ugh, another overhyped beer release πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... like who actually cares about a limited-edition ale for America's birthday? it's just gonna be some posers buying up cans online and sipping on it while pretending to be patriotic πŸŽ‰. and the brewery is just cashing in on its 25th anniversary hype, no doubt making bank off of nostalgia-tinged hipsters who can't even tell the difference between this beer and any other craft IPA πŸ˜’. benjamin franklin's first public lending library on a beer can? give me a break 🀣...

I'm stoked about this new beer 🍺! Victory Brewing doing a collab with Visit Philly is genius - what's more American than celebrating our nation's birthday? The fact that they're incorporating local nods like Benjamin Franklin's library and the coiled slinky into the can art is pure genius πŸ”₯. And, I mean, who wouldn't want to try a beer that's literally as American as apple pie? 🀠

omg u gotta try this new beer from victory brewing πŸΊπŸŽ‰ its like american pride in a can! i love how they collaborated with visit philly to make it super special. ben franklin's public lending library and the coiled slinky on the label? genius πŸ’‘ not to mention its got tropical fruit hints which is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day β˜€οΈ cant wait to try it at victory taprooms in feb! and 250th birthday celebration is so fitting, i'm definitely gonna stock up for future celebrations πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ‰ just saw that Victory Brewing is dropping a limited-edition ale for America's 250th birthday and I'm low-key hyped 🀩! Did you know that craft beer sales have been steadily increasing in the US, with a 6.3% growth rate in 2022 alone? πŸ“ˆ That's more than double the pre-pandemic rates! πŸš€ The US has also seen a rise in beer tourism, with over 50 million visitors to breweries in 2019. πŸΊπŸ—ΊοΈ Philly First is gonna be a game-changer! 🎊 With an ABV of 4.8%, it's perfect for toasting the nation's birthday πŸ₯³...and did you know that the average American consumes around 26.1 gallons of beer per year? 🀯 That's a lot of beer! 🍺

OMG, 250th birthday party for America? That's like, crazy! πŸŽ‰ Victory Brewing is killing it with this collab though. I love that they're incorporating historical pics from Philly into the can art - genius! πŸ’‘ And can we talk about how underrated Philadelphia is? I mean, they've got the Liberty Bell, cheesesteaks, and now a beer to match? 🀣 It's like, the ultimate city for beer lovers. As someone who's never been, I'm kinda jealous now πŸ˜”. But seriously, I think this limited-edition ale is gonna fly off the shelves - Victory always knows how to create something special! Cheers to that, America! 🍺

just heard about this new beer from victory brewing and its so cool that they created it together with visit philly! i mean, philly first is like a party in a can lol 4.8% abv sounds just right for me, gotta try it out ASAP πŸΊπŸŽ‰ also love the artwork on the can, its like a trip down memory lane. feels so cool that they incorporated all these nostalgic references to philly's history. and cant wait to try it at victory taprooms! 25th anniversary is big deal and now theyre making history with this limited-edition ale πŸ’₯

πŸ€” I'm not convinced about this whole "limited-edition ale" thing. Is it really that hard for breweries like Victory to produce more beer? And what's with the "celebrating all that makes Philly special" vibe? It feels like they're just cashing in on a national birthday party. πŸ€‘ I mean, have you seen the price tag on these 16-oz cans? Not exactly cheap. πŸ˜’ Still, I guess it's nice to see Victory supporting local events and whatnot... as long as we get some actual facts about the beer instead of just feel-good PR. πŸ“ Can someone give me a source on how much hops they used in this "Philly First" brew?

omg I'm so hyped about this new beer lol 🍺 250th birthday in america is such a big deal!! Victory brewing always brings out some fire beers but Philly first sounds like it's gonna be something special with those tropical fruit notes πŸ˜‹ and the can art is so cool, benjamin franklin on the label? 🀩 I mean, it's great that they're celebrating philly's history and all its 'firsts'... 1996 is even old enough for some of us to remember when victory first started lol

I'm so over this limited-edition ale craze! It's just another way for breweries to charge extra $$$ for something that's only available for a short time πŸ€‘. I mean, what's the big deal about Philly First? Can't they just make it a regular part of their menu like any other beer? And those cans with all the historical nods on them? Just looking like a marketing gimmick to me 🀣. Give me a good ol' fashioned Victory IPA any day!

I'm literally hyped for this limited-edition ale!!! 🀩 Can you even imagine sipping on a beer that's literally drinking in America's 250th birthday?! It's like, we're talking historical significance here! I mean, I've always loved Victory Brewing, but this collab with Visit Philly is just genius. The fact that they're incorporating all these iconic Philly things into the can art? Mind blown 🀯 I'm picturing it now, sipping on a cold Philly First while walking along the Liberty Bell... it's like a dream come true! I need to get my hands on those cans ASAP! And 25 years of Victory Brewing? That's just incredible. They're really going all out for this milestone birthday... and honestly, I'm here for it πŸŽ‰

I'm so down for this limited-edition ale, 250th birthday or not πŸŽ‰! I mean, who doesn't love a good excuse to crack open a cold beer and celebrate America's rich history? Philly First sounds like just the ticket – easy-drinking, crisp, and with those tropical fruit hints... sounds refreshing after a long winter 😊. And that can art is really cool, all these nostalgic references to Benjamin Franklin and Gimbels' slinky... it's like a time capsule in a can! I'm glad Victory Brewing is celebrating its own 25th anniversary in such style πŸ₯³.

Just had my fave brew from Victory Brewing's collab with Visit Philly - 250th birthday party beer is a solid choice πŸΊπŸŽ‰ 4.8% ABV is perfect for sippin' on a patio this summer, and them tropical fruit notes are on point! πŸ‘Œ

omg can you even imagine drinking a beer that's celebrating america's 250th birthday?! πŸŽ‰ it sounds so cool! i love that they did a collab with visit philly too. the art on the can is so fire, i need to see more pics of it lol. victory brewing has been around for 25 yrs and they're still killing it. bill covaleski and ron barchet are legends! πŸ™Œ i wonder how long we'll be able to get our hands on this limited edition ale... hope it's not too hard to snag a can before it's gone 🀞
