A 21-Year-Old Woman Shot Fatally in Austin Shooting, Friend Injured
Police have launched an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on November 22nd at approximately 1:18 a.m. in the 800 block of North Waller Avenue, where two women were walking alone on the sidewalk.
According to authorities, a white sedan suddenly stopped and an individual fired shots, striking both women. The 21-year-old victim was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her companion, identified as a 23-year-old woman, received non-life-threatening injuries in the ankle area.
Despite efforts by law enforcement, no arrests have been made yet, leaving the investigation ongoing. The police are currently reviewing the case and collecting evidence to identify the perpetrator.

this is so sad ... you know i was thinking about how we gotta stay safe out there 
especially at night when it's dark ... like what can we do to prevent these kinda situations from happening again? 
maybe we need more streetlights or security cameras in areas where people walk alone? and also, have you noticed that most of these crimes happen in cars 
... like why do ppl think its cool to be reckless with their guns? 
... my heart goes out to them ... we need more love and kindness in our communities 
. and yeah, let's keep an eye on this investigation too 
... hopefully they catch the person responsible soon

it's just so senseless when things like this happen... i mean, two young women out with their friend, enjoying the night air, and suddenly they're caught in the middle of some crazy violence 
. it's heartbreaking thinking about that 21-year-old girl who didn't get to live her life 
. and the fact that there are no leads yet just makes me anxious wondering when we'll finally hear something about who was behind this 
... can't help but think of all the what-ifs

This is getting out of hand... another young life lost to senseless violence 
i hope whoever did this gets caught soon, but the fact that they haven't even arrested anyone yet is really concerning me... what's going on with our city? 
anyway, my thoughts are with the victim's family and friend, sending them all love and support 
. It's crazy how quickly things can change. I mean, one minute you're out with your squad, enjoying the night life in Austin, and the next, tragedy strikes 
. Can't we just get a good night's sleep without worrying about being caught in the crossfire? I mean, what even is with walking alone at 1:18 am on a Tuesday? It's like trying to set a new record for most times you can be awake and still manage to get shot 
. And poor girl, 21 years old gone 
. The fact that the police haven't made any arrests yet is just frustrating. I know they're still investigating and all, but it feels like time is standing still right now. We need to keep pushing for safer streets and communities, you know?
